Yes Glassgirl, we really would like to know what happened last night. Perhaps you don't have power or have more important issues than checking in here but I know there are a lot of good wishes for you. Stay safe and check in when you can.
Hope everyone in the path of Ivan made it safely through the night!

glassgrl: I hope that everything is alright. I remember your post saying that a beach evacuation order had been issued and everything was closed even the Super Walmart, and that was stupid as the hurricane wasn't even coming close to you!
Next time, Please Evacuate.

She mentioned in one of her last posts that her power was out and she was on her laptop with battery power. The swarm of tornadoes in her county and the adjacent counties probably took out most of the phone lines. Even if she does have power left in her laptop battery, I suspect it may be awhile before we hear from her or ltray.

That's right sparkz, the phone lines. I'll bet they have been down since last night & that's why she stopped posting.
It's going to be a long anxious wait, she's OK though, so is ltray, I just know it.

Thanks for the kind thoughts. I was writing the board a letter last night when our power went out.
I was luckier than GG, the tornadoes stayed at least a mile from my house.
I had just turned the TV on yesterday when the tornado went thru her back yard. That WAS scary. One minute I am watching a tornado blow transformers on TV, and the next I am calling her because I realized it was outside her house!
Here in Callaway we've been very lucky. Power and phone was just restored and we only have broken trees. Now relatives from out of state have started calling for updates.
My mother-in-law stayed with us during the storm and we will be taking her back to Mexico Beach in the morning. She lives a few house from the water but we are not expecting much damage.

Hi Lucy,
Have not talked to her yet, phone has only been back for 2 hours and my husband still has it tied up, lol. I did talk to her yesterday after the tornado. We still had pwer but she didn't, so I invited her over to our house.
Unfortunately, last I heard, her area of the beach is still under a curfew due to down power lines. I'm sure she is ok. It looks like her power and internet was back up even before mine was.
