I am dealing with the stupidest woman on this earth. First it took her several days to get around to trying to pay. Then she wrote Do I still have to send a check even though I went through the checkout?. Well duh, you have to pay some way. As if that wasn't enough her package got lost in the mail. I don't doubt that because I had dozens get lost from that week. Of course, she wasn't one of the understanding ones. She was a major pain in the ole you know where. Now she is saying that there is $3.25 postage due and she wants a refund. The package was sent first class, it weighed 2 oz and it was an over sized envelope with DC. 73 cents using Endicia.
I'm not giving her a refund. The package is there with the right postage. This is her fight with the PO. What would you guys tell her?

If she gave the wrong addy and the PO had to forward it, it's her dime to get her mail to her, not you.
Other than that, I have no clue, how about, "sorry, but it appears I sent it to (addy here) which you provided."

How about the THICKNESS rule with eDC & FIRST CLASS??
Did ya throw a peanut or TWO inside to make sure??
" First-Class Mail® Parcels - Envelopes and small packages weighing 13 ounces or less. Applies only to boxes or envelopes measuring at least 3/4” at thickest point."

Not enough info here to help you.
1) What did you charge her for shipping?
2) Did she give you the correct address?
3) What message do you get when you check the DC number?
4) How thick was the envelope? If it was less than 3/4, the post office may have refused to deliver it. I made that mistake a few weeks ago by accident, and there still is no Delivery Confirmation message with USPS online.
5) I'm not sure how paying a few days after the auction is a big deal. I'm happy if payment is received within 7 days, and won't fuss over it if it goes to 10 days. After 10 days I send a reminder and most pay. No big deal.

OK here are all the answers to your questions
I charged her $1 for postage. The actual postage was 73 cents.
I assume she gave me the correct address. The second one made it to her post office and she got the notice about the additional postage. She didn't say anything about the address being wrong.
When I check the tracking through iship I get that it is In Transit but it shows as arrived at her city. When I check through Endicia I get that there was an attempted delivery. If it is not claimed it will be sent back to me.
It doesn't matter about the thickness. It was a 6 x 9 bubble envelope and weighed 2 oz. The size makes it over size and the weight qualifies it for DC.
The fact that she took her time paying was not the problem. But when you add it to the fact that she was one of the 2 or 3 out of close to 100 that complained when the packages were lost then it matters. And now all those people have their packages and she is still being a problem.

INCORRECT!
If your bubble ENVELOPE had a thickness < 3/4" then it DID NOT qualify for DC & the PO could make nasty P&Ms about it
It used to be that FIRST CLASS could NOT have DC at all -- they just changed that rule last year to the "box or 3/4" envelope" rule!

I asked about this at my PO once and was told that if it weighed over an ounce and was a large envelope it qualified. But the USPS website does agree with you.
I have sent out hundreds of the these packages without any problems. Why did this woman have to be my only customer with a post office that follows the rules to the letter?

THAT was NEVER a rule
We B-&-moaned for years to get the PO to finally allow DC with FIRST CLASS, & they finally came up with the "BOX or 3/4" ENVELOPE" rule -- I think they're trying to keep the envelopes out of the automatic machines??
I'm sure that Mr Endicia (Harry) would know, but he's been scarce around this board ever since the PO screwed his company with the eBay-PP deal
