I've got a couple of lidded glasses with writing on them. Can anyone tell me if it's Japanese or Chinese writing? Thanks!

I'm not sure about the writing but it looks like an Alaska Clay piece.

It's Japanese.

I can see the symbols for "mountain" and "time"....

Thanks for the help...appreciate it! Re: the clay...it IS unusual...interesting pattern and color. Maybe some kind of special "blend"? Any help with this would also be appreciated! The lids, by the way, are plastic so perhaps it's not all THAT special?

This is Japanese cup,but most of the writing are in kansi characters.
Kansi-which means Hans characters is chinese characters which is used in japanese writing.
(Hans is a prominent dynasty in ancient China)
The characters said sound of cicado,and the name of the temple.The characters in red is the seal of the artist.
