Instead of typing the HTML for each listing, i.e. <center><p></center> etc., it there a way to have this where I can copy and paste for each listing. Very time consuming. Maybe Word could work?

I have a template set up in Front Page. Works great. I just change the photos and the wording then cut and paste into the description.

Just open up notepad or wordpad, simpe text editors.
copy this:
<html>
<p>
<p>
<p>
</html>
Paste into one of the mentioned above, put your words behind the p's.
Then save as .html
into your folder.
You can call it "Catfur" or you can call it "auction1template"...whatever just add .html OR .htm at the end.
Then open your browser up and press file then open file... and you can find your folder and look at your template. (Edited to add, at this point all you will see is a white page!)
other tags will work, pix too, but you need to nest everything in the "html/html" tags to see them on a browser.
It's cheap, it's easy, and you are on a step to empowerment: you understand the fundamental power of WWW.
Now go get 'em

I save all program set-up exe's in a folder -- where did you download it to?
IOW: where do you normally put program set-up exec's when ya download from the internet?
If I've lost ya, then let's start over:
1) Creat a folder in MY DOCUMENTS or yer "D" DRIVE or on yer DESKTOP (wherever...)
2) Click the link I posted above, & a new window will pop up giving ye THREE (count em...3) choices: RUN or SAVE or CANCEL
3) Click SAVE & navigate to the folder you created for yerself in step 1...
3) SAVE this EXEC into that folder...
4) GOTO that folder & OPEN (LEFT-CLICK on) the DEADZOOM setup program...

Microsoft FrontPage is the way to go. I keep a common template for the info needed in every auction, (shipping, contact info, see my other auctions ect...
Then I copy and paste it into my auctions then write the auction. I also save many old auctions of items that I tend to find that are the same or similar so all I have to do is to change a few words and I am ready to go.

I use shortkeys for everything. I have item descriptions saved, html codes such as...<font color=red> <font color=#33366>...so I can put anything I want the bidders to read in red, etc and all I have to do is type 2 letters and there it is.
They have a free version where you can save up to 35 statements. I have hundreds saved so I paid for mine.
I have a macro saved for "see my other California, Alabama, etc postcards" with the html to search my listings for them for each state, including the spacing and line breaks, and lots more. It saves me tons of typing.

Do you use Vendio? I have all my auction "listing text" saved in "Pending listings" (this is in addition to the "custom listing" text savwed in "My account). I have nearly a hundred different masters there with all the HTML and even the categories selected.
When I want to list, instead of going to "create listing", I go to "Pending listing" do a quick search (ctrl-f) to find the right master in the list, "Copy" it and then list the copy by attaching an image, modifying the master to fit the item and then schedule or launch.

I do the same as neglus. With a new one you can pick one that is the closest to what you need and then just make some changes. It beats starting from the beginning.

I create profiles in my Vendio Inventory management.
Go To your Inventory
Click on "New"
In the upper right corner of the screen is a box that says "profile item"
Click on this box
Type in your template and save
Go into your ebay "create a listing" like you would always do. The first page that comes up is your catagory page. At the top of this page it says "Apply Profile". You can then choose your created template from the drop down menu.
Hopefully this made sense.

It is a good way to do it, ewora. I used to do it that way too until the delays with the category selection started. That's when I began listing from "Pending". Because the category is already selected on my saved master pending listings, there are no delays and now that attaching images is virtually instantaneous, it takes just a few seconds to modify and list. I used to fall asleep (not kidding) waiting for the category tree to come up and then again waiting for the image to attach. I figure I save about an hour a day listing from "Pending".

neglus,
Thanks for the great tip! I always used several templates saved in Word, but this is a much better idea! This deserves to be bumped!
