I have been using My Ebay to send out the invoices to the high bidder, but there must be an easier way to what I am doing. I go to the first one and send an invoice and then I have to go BACK to MY EBAY and do the second one. I have to keep signing in, etc. I don't know if I am missing a step or what? I would think there would be a button that would say something about going back to your closed auctions to send out the next invoice instead of having to start at the beginning again. Any suggestions, or am I going to have to just do what I have been doing? Thanks!

I send my invoices through "My Ebay" too - to avoid the "Going back" problem, I right click on the "send invoice" link and then open it in a new window, I send it and then close the window and so on..every once in awhile I refresh to make sure I have sent invoices to everybody.

Simple,
Quit using ebay's stupid invoices. I send all invoices directly from my e-mail. All I have to do is click a folder and it automatically fills in the e-mail, then all I have to do is put in the auction name, amount and click send. Takes about a third the time that the ebay thing does and it is much more personal.

Why aren't you using the automatic vendio system. I never click on anything. Just wait for payment or total shipping sometimes.

I don't use Vendio because the invoice is tied to their DINOSAUR check-out system! I won't put my buyers through that ordeal!

Margie: Like Stonecold, I too send invoices from my e-mail. I'm not as automated as he is, though. I look at the ended auction that Ebay has sent me in my e-mail, click on the buyer's e-mail address. From there I write a first sentence telling the buyer what his total $$ is, and cut and paste the rest. Takes about 30 seconds.

I also change the address line in that to read "From your Ebay seller" and include the auction item # and name that's already there. I've had great success in hearing back from my buyers.

This is a real dinosaur approach, I know, and if I had more than about 30 to do, and if I couldn't type fast, I'd probably automate the whole process.

The point is that there are many different ways to send an invoice, and use whatever floats your boat.

I use PayPal manual notifications. Click on the Auction Tools tab. Then click on New Invoice Manager and fill them all in and send them all at once by clicking on "invoice" at the bottom of the page.

I have an e-mail pre-typed and saved to my buyers in my draft folder in Outlook Express. I just open it and do a Ctrl C to Copy it and then fill specifics of the auction item and send it to the buyer. Works fine. Sometimes, I use the Ebay Invoice system also with success.

This is a really dumb question, but do you have to be signed up with Paypal to use the Ebay invoice system? The reason I ask is I looked at it the other night and it said that by using it, the "Pay Now" button would automatically be activated for that auction.

I tried to send invoices through PayPal...UGH! First of all it took forever when I clicked on the Invoice Manger link...then it said I didn't have any items. I went into "help" and used a link there and then all the items I sold in the last week or so came up (about 200!) - I checked all of them to remove them and then thought I would try to use it this am with overnight sales...same thing - the "invoice manager" link didn't work but the "help" one did...a couple of the items I had removed came up again, and not all of the sales showed and one had already paid through PP...what a mess!! I am sticking with ebay invoice! It is so easy when you copy a personal text to insert and right click and open in a new window each sale and then paste the message and send! The bonus is that there is an ebay record that the invoice has been sent,

I use eBay invoices and find that for me they are the easiest and quickest way to contact the buyer. Each of my items has a different shipping cost so I fill that out, add a pasted message, send the invoice then click on "View Payment Status". I cut and paste the address of the buyer so that I can wrap and address the package, and then print out the first page of the invoice. I have a rubber stamp which reads,
Invoice..........
ck/mo rec........
emailed........
mailed........
comments.........

I stamp that on the invoice and fill in the appropriate amounts and dates as I receive payment, etc. I know it is old fashioned to have a paper copy, but it is very convenient and quick for me. Also, using the Ebay invoice puts no responsibility for filling out long and confusing forms on the buyer. If you open a new window to send the invoice, then you can just click off the page and you are right back in My Ebay.
