An auction has closed and I want to write the seller about it. They have no other auctions running or I would contact them thru another item.

Anymore, there does not appear to be a way to ask the seller a question or determine their email address after an auction has closed.

Does anyone know another way to get a seller's email address? Yes, I know eBay does not like us doing this. Thanks.

Even if an auction is closed, you can still contact the seller by clicking on "ASK SELLER A QUESTION".

This link is in the seller information box at the top, right of the listing.

How strange. I looked back on some ended auctions from various sellers and found that some show the "ASK SELLER A QUESTION" link and some do not. I don't know why, but the auction I'm interest in does not.

If the auction has a "view sellers other auctions" link, (upper right, below seller information) try clicking on it for current auctions. Maybe they have the ask seller a question link in them.

and if you don't find it there ... click on their feedback number, and you will see 'contact member' and can get in touch with them that way.

Thanks AintRichYet. I found the Contact Member button in their feedback. This is exactly what I needed.

There e-mail address will be in the e-mail that ebay sends to you to confirm the end of the auction. You should also be able to see it when you are logged in and go to that auction that you won.

Why don't you send them an email and ask them what their email address is?

I find it incredibly annoying that eBay no longer displays the buyer's email address at the end of the auction. I prefer to send my own invoice, and now we are forced to go to the buyer's feedback page and click on "contact member" in order to send one & that means we are limited in the amount of info we send. And I want the buyer's email addy upfront anyway, for my records...

If you go into your "my ebay" and the "sold" section you can then "customize" your sold page to show either the buyer's ebay ID or their email address.

ArtNouveau did not state they were 'involved' in a closed ebay listing with this Seller. So they won't find the email address in their MyEbay or anywhere else ...

Yes...I know. But Bunnicula was wondering how to have easy access to buyers emails.

Not sure why you cannot get the e-mail address. It is still there on all my auction and fixed price items.

I was going to post and ask about getting the emal addresses of my buyers.

There seems to be no way to change that or customize it on My Ebay. Perhaps I didn't understand exactly what needs to be done.

nnt: ... for your buyers, on your My eBay, go to your 'Sold' page, and in upper right corner is 'customize' ... there's an option in there to have them listed by email addy, or ebay ID. ..... then hit 'save'

Correct AintRichYet, I was not involved in the transaction. I discovered it after it closed and I’m interested in the item. I’ve never done business with the seller and had no way of communicating with them except thru ebay.

I now see that ebay removes the “Ask seller a question” link when an auction ends unsold but keeps the link it if the auction ends with a successful bidder. They always seem to keep the “Contact Member” button on their feedback page.

Thanks, AintRichYet.

Sometimes I have to be led through this computer stuff. I did try last night and didn't find the right page. This morning, I followed your directions, step-by-step, and what do you know, there was the right page.

I really like to write my own letters and it seems to get better results. I used the 'send invoice' option last night and so far, have received 1 payment and 1 response. Usually, by this time, 90% of my buyers have responded.

Thanks for your patience.

Trixie
