Last batch of auctions closed Tues nite. 2 of the winners use AOL. Both have emailed me asking for shipping cost and where to send pmnt. I send that info immediately following the close of the auction. I don't have problems with any other buyers, why AOL?

No stone ... i said they are newbies, to the internet and computer usage in general! ... aol or anybody they pick to use the internet.

Not all aol users are stupid ... just the newbies are. lol .... they must sign up for every single checkmarked item or something, to make sure they're "secure and safe" being "online" ....

We're aol'ers here and we're not stupid.

I have peoblems with AOL. I know of at least 2 peop[le that I cannot receive email feom. I am on Verizon DSL & Verizon has checked & told me it is on the AOL side. They can get email from, but not send to me. Neither is a newbies to the internet & neither is stupid. It has to do with the ISP. One is well known on this board.

AOL 9.0 has a spam filter that's pretty tough. Mail gets put into their spam folder (with my SBC Yahoo its called Bulk Mail) and most never bother to check it. I've experienced the same problem many times. I've had to phone a couple of them. You may want to note in your auctions (in large letters) that AOL users need to check their spam folders for your emails. Most don't know how to make eBay invoices non-spam, so to speak. I know with SBC Yahoo it's easy. I can't say that for AOL since I haven't used them in about 3 years.

Not all aol users are stupid

Now that's an oxymoron.

Until AOL cleans up it's act, all AOL users are stupid for the simple reason that they continue to use AOL.

cheryl, that filter works on incoming mail, not out going. I have a spam filter on my DSL & check it frequently. Non of these emails are coming through it.
