Grrrr.... I really don't understand the mentality of some bidders. I checked my account today... and I had a newly posted neutral from one of my bidders. The item purchased was a vintage magazine ad. The feedback he left states:
"didn't expect advertisement to actually be SEPERATE pages."
Well... let's see... the description said. "This is a 2-page ad". (Hmmm..... one page + one page = two pages.... )
Secondly.... there was a picture!!!!!!!!! The pages were next to each other with SPACE in between!!! How could he not have known what he was getting?!?!
Of course... there was no communication between this bidder before he left the feedback in my account. It just drives me crazy that there are such stupid people out there. It is a newbie bidder (4 feedback) and I'm really leaning toward a negative feedback on the basis that he did not read the item description and didn't communicate his problem with me. Granted... the payment was fairly prompt... but I just don't think that should be the basis for the whole transaction. Still... I'm open to suggestions... and may cave-in to leaving him a neutral in return... but definately not a positive! Let me know what you would do!
edited for clarity....

Neg him for poor communication. I hate bidders like that.

lol, GG!
I'd leave him a neutral with "Did not read ad and never contacted me about discrepancy".

replay- LOL! That would be great to leave that on there.
I would definitely leave a neutral along to the tune of not reading description and poor communication. People can be so unbelievable with their feedback sometimes... Neutrals sometimes really baffle me. This buyer is obviously new to ebay or they're one of these people like the tool guy who just enjoy leaving bad feedback for others.

I agree that a neutral is deserved. I don't think a neg in order. I would do as ltray suggested.

I would neg, then put in an offer to mutually withdraw...Since bidders seem to care about feedback, why not use it to your advantage.

In this case, no feedback would be appropriate. If you leave either a nuetral or neg, you will look like a retaliator and will keep any seasoned bidders away.
Leaving feedback at this point will only hurt you.

Do you honestly believe bidders will stay away because of feedback you leave? They are going to be MUCH more concerned about the feedback that is given to you.

Just popped in to say- we really use what i think is good communication for wrapping up a transaction, which is quite effortless, and cuts down on negs and neuts., imho.
we have a slip of paper we tuck into each ebay shipment ... and it goes like this:
...........................
"Item #___________ (<---handwritten #)
Thank you very much for your business! We really appreciate it! Please leave feedback for us at eBay if you are pleased with your item. Keep in mind we are allergic to neutral and negative feedback ļ so if there are any problems, please email us at [email protected] in an effort to resolve.
Please bookmark our eBay listings to enjoy browsing through occasionally. Or drop us a line letting us know what you¡¦re looking for, because we might just have something for you!
~ (signed, our name)"
........................
We've got the package-insert message saved in our word processor program, to bring up every time i need to make more of them ... We fit this message, 3 times on one sheet of printer paper, (and use our big paper cutter to separate them) ... the message really does 1) prompt them to let us KNOW if something isn't as they thought it should be, and 2) usually gets 90% of our buyers to actually leave nice feedback.

Perfect AintRichYet, just what I do, over 2,000 sales and only 2 negs! Communication is where it's at... You really can't expect people to always understand, so a little prompting goes a long way...

In all my auctions I put a note which says.
Enclosed you will find your eBay item "I insert item name here" that you won the bid
on.
If you have a spare moment please examine your purchase and let me know if your item arrived safe and sound. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or problems concerning your order.
It was a pleasure doing business with you.
I put the persons first name and eBay auction number at the top. I sign my name, address, ebay user ID, and email address on the bottom.
So far I have had no problems or in over a 1000 transactions no negatives or neutrals. I never ask for feedback but I don't leave mine until they have left theirs. I use to do it the other way but since reading this board I have changed that.

What should I do about this one? I had a lady in Pa. bid on a vase and won then bid on another one that ended a few days later. Then she told me a mO would be in the mail the next day.The 1st one ended on the Sept. 23 and I waited and waited. I sent new invoices finally she responded that I should receive it Sat which was last week. Then I reported as a unpaid bidder with Ebay and she told Ebay I cashed her checks . The bank told her I did. I had never received it I told Ebay. Then the next day I received a check for $44.80 for both checks by Fed Ex. It was the same check # that she told Ebay I cashed. What kind of Feedback should I leave? She kept telling me she was having hard times. Well I am too and I look at if you are having hard times you don't go spending money you don't have.I went to her bank and cashed the check and I was very lucky it was good.

vickrose ... she sounds like a nightmare ... i would be tempted to give her a neutral, but might not leave any FB at all. she sounds like the kind of person who might leave unjustified neut or neg to you.

I have 100% feedback and I am afraid she would leave me a bad negative . So I had thought to wait to the near the end of the feedback time and leave her a neutral
