Hi, all! I've been uploading whole files of pictures into Vendio for sometime now and like doing it that way. Now I have a whole file that I'd like to not intermingle with my other photos. I know that I can designate a new file if I upload the long, slow way, but just now I looked at uploading a file of pix to the web and didn't see anywhere that I could get them uploaded into a separate file (they're all Christmas items).
Any advice from you smart people out there? (I'll even take advice from not-so-smart people, because I'm feeling ignorant about this, LOL.)

I like the bulk uploader better too. Do you need to keep all of your images "unfiled"? I use the "unfiled" folder (the place where bulks uploader sends images) as a temporary location for my images. I upload images there and then move them to folders afterwards.

Thanks, Neglus. Now, dumb question #2. If I want to move pictures from my unfiled file (which I use all the time), do I click on them individually and move them into another file? That seems laborious, since I'm looking at about 50 pix to find in the big list and then move. I guess I should have thought ahead on this and given these special pix a code at the beginning of their names.

Well, I've just tried out moving photos from one file to another, so I know how to do it. I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and upload all those Xmas pix, then find them one by one and mooooooooove them. Live and learn. Next time I'll label them something like XX--and then the name, so they'll all be in one place.

I have an idea - upload them again and you will get an error code "already a file by this name want to rename" or something like that..rename them with xxs (or maybe aaa would put them at top) so you can find and then move them.

Neil: Circumstances beyond my control have given me no time to play with the new light cube yet. I'll be sure to post results here when I do have the time.
Neglus: Thanks for the advice. I have to confess a major failing here. I do NOT know how to rename my photos that I have stored in my own files, ready to upload to Vendio. I've never had to rename pix before uploading them and can't find any information about how to do that. If I knew how to, I'd probably do that before attempting to upload.
I just don't see how uploading them and getting an error message would then allow me to rename the pictures. Any clues??

I have had to rename images on the upload to Vendio before - that's how I know that you get the opportunity to rename but I guess that's when you upload without using the bulk upload function.
Do you have xp? Do you save your images in My Pictures if you do? If so, you click on the image - to the left is a column of actions you can take - one of them is rename my image. click on that and the name is highlighted - type in the new name...if you don't have xp I am afraid I can't help..never did digital imaging when I had 98.

Neglus! Thanks to you, I've learned how to rename the danged pictures. I have XP and did just as you suggested. Kind of cumbersome, but hopefully I won't make the same mistake twice. Thanks a bunch.

Andy Rooney on "cripes":
My wife's from the midwest. Very nice people there. Very wholesome.
They use words like 'Cripes' 'For Cripes sake.' Who would that be; Jesus Cripes? The son of 'Gosh' of the church of 'Holy Moly'? I'm not making fun of it. You think I wanna burn in 'Heck'?

Yes you can right click on it - even click on the place where the name goes and you get text editing...all are about as cumbersome as the next for me. Glad you figured it out Roadsmith - maybe one of these other ways would be easier for you.
