I've heard that you can makr it so people who "buy it now" have to pay immediately before auction closes.
How do you set that???

You check PayPal's IMMEDIATE PAYMENT option -- it also restricts the auction to USA only

I tried it for a month & me sales DECREASED by 50% -- dropped it like a rabid pretzel...

There is another drawback with this option, which I ran into during PayPal's recent problems:

I found an auction using the Instant Payment option for BIN. I decided to buy it & entered the required amount--it was then that the screen displaed the message that with the Instant Payment option the item wasn't "mine" until it was paid for through Paypal & that until that was done another person could bid on the item & take it.

OK, I thought, no problem, as I was going to pay for it immediately anyway. But when I tried to do so I discovered that PayPal was down! I tried and tried and tried & could not pay for it. Unfortunately, I had toleavemy computer for a few minutes...and in that time another person was able to get into PayPal during one of its brief uptimes that day, and they got the item even though I'd bid on the BIN for it more than 30 minutes before!

Talk about pissed off. I will never bid on another BIN auction that requires Instant Payment. If I bid on a BIN auction, I expect it to be mine.

I run ONLY Fixed Price Sales on eBay or any other site I use, BUT I WOULD NEVER RESTRICT MY SALES TO IMMEDIATE PAYMENT. You are then FORCING your buyer to use PayPal, which all may not be members, or your buyer may be someone who only likes to pay via MO, PLUS, I feel it is a VERY push approach.

Personally, I think if I were a buyer, I'd have a negative reaction to being FORCED to pay immediately, and through only one source. Psychologically, I think it is a very negative approach.

As I see it the BIN, with immediate payment, ONLY BENEFITS eBAY AND/OR PAYPAL.

I'd NEVER consider using it.
