Just wanted tell this story ...
I'm a lonnnnnng time internetter (is that a word?) and I know all about the spoof phishing emails and what to be wary of ...
but i have a really nice repeat ebay buyer/customer who last week had i.d. theft via hacker/fraud/ebay email .. she has been an ebay member since July and has 159 feedback ...
she emailed me today that she was victim of identity theft thru an email she received where she was supposed update info or whatever ... she told me that she 'started to enter info, and thought maybe shouldn't do that' so she just x'ed out of the page ... then, as she says NOW, 'it was probably too late' right there ........
ebay and the feds are all over her case for her, .. the 'phisherman' *did* list some auctions in her name (and she's only been a buyer on ebay so far) ...
my point I want to make with this post here, is that a member or more here has said something like, "when you get those emails, you oughtta go in and type '[email protected]' and make up a bunch of fake info there ... but THIS would be similar to the risk this person did, because once a person is 'entering' their site to complete (or not complete) information, the 'bad guys' may have already been able to get the "keystroke" info into the victim's computer and can soon find out all the passwords, etc ....
this is a public service by 'aint rich yet'

Thanks Ainrich, It may help some one who is very new. Any time I get anything asking me for information via a link either PayPal or eBay, I send it to spoof first & let them tell me if it is legit or not.
