Anyone using Fox Fire Browser? There was an article on local TV re: F/F being the latest & best browser. I had not heard of it. Supposedly free on the internet.

hi sanmar ... it's been talked about a little bit here on this board during the past month ... its "firefox.com" (rather than fox fire) .... i d/l'ed it ... not bad at all, quite simple interface ... i saw some more postings here to tweak it up, but haven't needed nor done that.
edited to add, p.s. it's part of mozilla

It's Firefox and I use it.
http://www.mozilla.org/
It has built-in popup blocking, which is great, but the best feature is tabbed browsing. If you tend to open up several browser windows at once, which most eBay sellers do, then this thing is going to save your sanity.
I've been using it for the better part of a month... If you have any questions, post 'em here!

I've been using it for several months now and I'm really pleased with it. Maximum PC Magazine thinks it the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Hi... thanks to this board, we've been using foxfire. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to get the ebay page look the same on foxfire as it did on explorer.

Etexbill, how does it compare to Netscape?

Bunni, if you mean how does it compare to Mozilla, it's very similar. If you mean the OLD "Netscape" browser, it's miles ahead of that.
As thepriest said, SOME (very few) pages don't look exactly the same. I've not found this to be a problem, every page I've loaded works just fine, even if one does occasionally look a little different (not BAD, just diffrent).

I regret my stupidity in calling it foxfire. I went into Google & found several items about it. Now my concern is will Verizon DSL support it?

It works with any ISP. If your machine is configured to hook to the Internet (if you are reading this then it IS correctly configured) then that's all you need.
With the POSSIBLE exception of AOL, which isn't a standard service. They may be fine, I dunno, but if there was a problem with ANYONE it would be AOL.
Just download it and run the installer. There's no special trick to it.

Bunni: replay is right, it's way ahead of Netscape. When I find the magazine article, I'll post some of their comments.

I REALLY like Mozilla/Firefox. Beats the heck out of ineptexplorer. No pop-ups, because they ain't written to work with it.

It's a great browser, with a lot of logical built-in features. Now, it is stand alone, apart from an email program...they have an email program called Thunderbird I believe. If you try Mozilla, that is everything wrapped up into one. I kinda like Firefox because of having it seperate from my email.
I've used it, and a previous version, for close to 3 months now with no problems.

Mozilla Foxfire is very efficient,it is faster and rated more secure than others. I use it almost all the time.I also use Opera but like Foxfire the best.

Tempted to try it.
But what makes it different or better than IE?
I've never had any problems with IE.
So I'm reluctant to change.

I downloaded it yesterday & it works great. A lot faster than IE. Takes a little time to get used to it, but working AOK now.

Please forgive my ignorance--but if I download the fox fire browser, does it affect anything else on my computer?
Will it affect the things on my Desktop on in the Favorites file?
Sorry for the question -- please

Nope, not that I have found. I did have to import my favorites but it did leave them in IE as well so I was happy. I also had to download a new flash player to be able to see the Vendio Gallery (Free). I LOVE the tabbed browsing. Much better than having 3 or more IE windows open.

Does it allow you to imprt your favorites from Netscape, or just IE?

One more very dumb question - since I doubt that I could every 'import' anything, could I just make another 'favorites' list for the new browser?
Thanks,
Trixie
