Someone once said that once you get a neutral or negative - that other bidders just start piling on - I would have never believed it but I just got another neutral after 5 plus years on ebay with no neutrals or negatives until this MONTH (some will remember my post a few weeks ago - hope I'm not opening that can of worms again - if you know what I mean!!!)

Had this with my morning coffee today:

"Receipt of item slow but well packed when received after contact to seller"

Here's the REAL story - received a CHECK (yes a check) on the 5th - it wasn't much money so I mailed first class on Friday. Monday was a Holiday so she received it the following Monday - again Florida to California. All my auctions state item not shipped until the check has cleared!!! She requested & paid for cheapest shipping.
I sent her an email when I shipped and reply to her "have not received item" on the 14th that the holiday may have slowed it down but if she didn't get it soon, I would track it for her.
She is making it sound like I didn't ship until she asked about it. Again this is a newbie.
I just don't know what else I could have done?
I guess I need to ship the morning after the auction closes regardless of how they plan to pay??????

It's just another one of those buyers that no matter how hard to try to make them happy and you do everything by the book, they will NEVER be happy. And I'll bet you've already left them good feedback and still got slammed. Just move on and know that some people are just gonna complain about every little thing even if you bend over backward for them.

No I never leave FB until everything is said and done!!! I still believe that there is more to a transaction than paying and shipping. This is a good example!! She even wrote back saying she got the pin and it was beautiful - didn't see that in her FB - did you??

Here is how I handle this crap. I also do not leave feedback first. Give the buyer a neg stating very imaptient. The will surely not like this. Then come back with an offer to "Mutually Remove" the feedback. Works everytime!

Can you mutually remove FB before both post the FB?
This is why ebay should change the FB rules to no less than positive until someone has 20 or more FBs. When you have 1 or 2 FBs - you just don't care but with 20 FB you have to work a little.

The good news is that it didn't hard as bad this time!!! lol

I was like you. Went years without a neg, then one idiot came up with "no money, have to withdrawn" or something like that. That opened the door.

This month has been a really bad one as far as newbies go. They want their package two days after they pay. Have no clue about the PO on weekends and holidays. Every transaction take 5 or 6 emails in addition to the regulars ones you send during the auction. I feel like I spend most of my time answering stupid questions. Like, When can I expect my package? - You can expect it when you pay for it.

I have had an increase on the "I didn't mean to buy it" e-mails also.

Be kind. Everyone is fighting their own secret battles.

Ladyjewels,

You both have to leave feedback first. Since you have your neutral, fire back with a neg. Then wait a day, let them simmer over it and then complete the Mutual Feedback removal form. I am 8 for 8 with this method!

Do you have to go to Square Deal? I know that cost $20.00 each time and still doesn't mean it will be removed. Isn't this mutual removal kind of new with ebay?
Do you ask them to remove it or do they offer?
My first neutral won't even answer my emails now but I never posted any FB for her.

What do you say in the negative? Everyone here seems to think this is a bad practice to leave them negatives as long as they pay on time. I'm not so sure I agree anymore - both mine were unfair and I am feeling like a wimp for not standing up for myself now.

I would just say" Impatient buyer, left inappropriate feedback". Maybe you can make it a neutral but there may less of a chance to the mutual feedback removal.

You do not do this through SqareTrade, it is an automated eBay process. Here is the link:

I've used this method successfully several times myself, bidders hate negative feedback, so it tends to work. I know some will scream it is not fair, but the way I look at it, it is. Feedback is stacked against sellers, and sellers should try to avoid poor feedback. If I have done everything I can do, and get poor feedback, I will definitely give a negative to the bidder. That means packing the item well, and shipping within a day or two. If they pay for media mail and won't upgrade to priority mail, and complain delivery was too slow because it took a week to get there, they are going to get a neg from me. If it is MY error (and it almost never is in these cases) then I won't do that. You should also consider blocking the bidder to prevent further retailiation from them.

marcn...I took your advice with a buyer who gave me a neutral about a month ago. I had been holding off returning feedback. Her neutral said the item was wonderful but I sent it to the wrong address. I mailed it to the only address I was given and that was from Paypal.

So...yesterday I hit her with a return neutral and immediately filled out the request form for removal...She bit.

Doing the happy dance.

Thank you, Thank you.
