I don't know much at all about dolls and am having a hard time identify this one. Anyone have any info??

She stands 11 inches tall. I believe she is from the 30's or 40's. Looks like composition to me. I've looked under nodders and bobbles and haven't seen anything like her. She is just too cute. When you move her, her head sways one way and her dress sways the other.

I believe that this is a Swing and Sway doll. When I was a child in the 1950's, my spoiled neighbor friend had a doll like this on her dresser. It was made of hard material. She called it a Swing and Sway doll. They are hard to find now. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dorrie,
I found a very few references to the Sammy Kay Swing and Sway doll on the chat boards. No one seems to know for sure about these.

Interestingly enough, someone just listed one tonight and I would have never found it without your help. THANKS!

I would be interested in following your auction on this doll when you get it listed. Let us know the Ebay item #. Thanks

Will do Dorrie. I think I'll list it after the current auction goes off. BTW, I cleaned her off with a damp cloth and retook the photos. Still trying to work out the kinks in using my new camera...
