I had a customer a couple of months ago who stated that she hadn't received a pattern I sent her. She gave me a neutral not because she didn't believe that I didn't send it, but because she said that she couldn't review the pattern to see that it was as advertised. Nice, huh? I blocked her from future bidding. She had bought a few things from me in the past, but was generally late in paying and I just couldn't deal with it on top of the neutral.
She had written me angry that I had blocked her and couldn't understand why I would be upset over a neutral. I finally stopped writing to her and then she said that she didn't receive another pattern. I wrote to her and told her when I sent it and offered her a refund. She wrote back a nasty e-mail saying that "obviously I needed the money more than her" and I could keep it. Then she wrote to say that she didn't receive 3 patterns from me. I wrote her one last time and told her that if she would tell me which 3 she didn't receive, I would gladly look through my patterns and mail them out again. I never heard back from her.
Today she left me another neutral saying that she had been hospitalized and couldn't complete the sale. Nice, huh?
I have 3 open feedbacks that I can give to her. Because of her I now leave feedback AFTER the customer leaves it for me.
What would you do?
Diane
Edited to add -- I checked her feedback and she received 15 neutrals and 1 neg in the past month and has a total of 18 neutrals and 2 negs for the last year.

Hi Diane and Tom,
It's VERY tempting to agree w/Tom and slam her with three big red negs. But, if she's only left FB on one of the three auctions, that leaves her with two opportunities to retaliate.
I also checked her FB and it looks like she started having problems just recently. Maybe she's off her meds...
Anyway, if it were me, I'd do nothing right now. I'd wait and see if she leaves FB on the other auctions.
BTW, Diane, thanks for the latest addition to my blocked bidder list! I feel sorry for that one seller who, out of 16 transactions, got two positives, one neg and 13 neutrals. Jeeze... she's a nutcase as far as I'm concerned.

She really is nuts, Lucy. We've discussed her before, and I cannot believe that after all this time, I received another neutral. I thought this nightmare was over, but it keeps coming back to haunt me.
It wouldn't be so bad, but I had a rough week with the testing of my daughter, finding out she's ADHD, starting her on meds (which is not without side effects) and receiving another neutral from a newer bidder, which I returned in kind.

Oh, Diane, that's right. I didn't realize this was the same one.
Still, as hard as it may be, I think it's best to just let it be for a while. Sometimes it's better to do nothing. Otherwise the situation can escalate and get worse.
This is a bit off-topic but I'm wondering if both of her neutrals went against your total count. Kinda like positives have to be from unique users to add to it. Do negs and neutrals need to be from different people to count?

Bizzy,
My oldest is 13 and ADHD since 3yrs. Put her on Focalin-Ritalin without side effects. It's a Godsend! It's been a long tough ride and will be for a while. Psychologist didn't help. All they do is listen to problems and give you nothing but bull. We just found an ADHD coach. She's awesome. Explained to my daughter how she's a "hunter" and others are "farmers". Hunters are always keeping their eyes open for the rabbit to pop out of the bush. Farmers-like my husband(who will never understand her) keep plugging along sowing and harvesting. Awesome lady! My daughter has a new look on life. Anyway, want to talk- email [email protected].
Teri
Do yourself a favor and buy the book "Maybe You Know My Kid". Can't remember the author, only that it's a woman. I had the book and gave it to my daughter when she became a social worker. I bought it when my son was diagnosed in the late 80's, he was prescribed Desipramine at the time (ADD, ODD and Manic Depressive). I learned so much!
