hillybillymo I typed in ... The big house of "Little Things" into a yahoo search and found this link. It looks like your item maker and they have a e-mail contact. I'd e-mail them and ask if they made it and when...possible value. Never hurts to ask. Hope this helps ! I know some doll house items sell real good. Best of luck !

Hmmm, toasted ... I see this photo shows an old company in Chicago, rather than Vt. ...
so i typed into google using quote marks, "The big house of little things", and only one link came up ... but i clicked on it, and it was not pleasant. LOL

You have to love how they refer to the age in your link as "ancient". Hmmm, I always thought the word should be "antique". {smile}

I did a search of "mintoy" and found two references - one looked like it was from a no longer working auction site "echant" and the other you had to register to see the price.. http://www.prices4antiques.com/itemsummary/31490.htm
Maybe someone else is a member and can help??

You might post a scan of the box top. That would be helpful. Looks like the address has a zone number. That dates it from earlier than late 60s. I remember zip code introduction at that time.
Looks like the ribbon says Sterling. Wonder if it really is?

AintRichYet's link didn't say anything about being sterling that I can find. It also looks like a really nice velvet lining?
You may have a real Victorian set of doll house sterling. Worth checking out the best you can.

Hi all,
I'm not sure of the present value as I haven't done much, dollhouse-wise, in years but I do know this will be a real find for the right dollhouse enthusiast. Appears to be an older set (no zip code seen on the box) which will add to the appeal.
The fact that it's sterling and the forks have four tines (as opposed to three) indicates it's good quality.
It's hard to tell from the picture but it looks like there are knives, forks, teaspoons and soupspoons. The number of pieces also adds to the value.
The most important thing to do when you list is be sure your title is accurate and includes every keyword you can find when you research eBay listings. Might be a good idea to polish them up, too. Wright's Silver Cream on a Q-tip will do the job.
JMHO - I have several dollhouses, used to buy and make all sorts of things for them. You never know, you may have a real treasure here.

Thanks to all that have responded! I still haven't found out the value or the age. With all the input and info in this thread I have a few avenues to investigate.
Thanks Again!
