Just got this... seems legit:
Recently, the PayPal site had technology issues that may have hindered your ability to conduct business using PayPal.
To show our appreciation for your continued business, we're going to credit you for PayPal transaction fees incurred on October 28, 2004, between 12:00:00 AM PDT and 11:59:59 PM PDT.†
You don't need to do anything to receive your credit. We'll add up the transaction fees you accumulate, and send a credit to your PayPal account by November 25, 2004.
Read FAQs to learn more.

Some people are just never happy. They did not have to do anything. Instead they make a fee free day and people still b*tch. Companies mke mistakes, which PayPal obviously did but few admit it and even fewer make any attempt at reparations. With that type of attitude, do you blame them?

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

They are just playing CYA. They give a one day transaction fee refund versus facing the class actions that will be filed.
By the time the lawyers get their cut, you would be lucky to get one days transaction fees. Its a win/win for PP and the customers and the lawyers have to find a new ambulance to chase.

Thanks a lot PP. Refund listing fees on the slowest day of the week, while people are preoccupied with the imminent election, and only give 1 day's notice to boot.
I calculate my part of this gift as approximately $0.00.

I have received several payments today, and have been charged fees on them. Haven't seen the credits yet - maybe at 12:00?
I agree that it was a nice gesture, but also feel it was a shallow one. Just my opinion.

Won't do me any good. So I agree with Aintrich's Hmmmmmph attitude. Everyone is paid and nothing closing for a couple of days. IMO, everyone should get some kind of credit.

I got a $177 refund on a purchase from a now NARU seller. Gives me great pleasure to know that Pp had to cough up so much of their ill gotten gains to cover this crooked seller.
