Anyone have any idea what GJD stands for on vintage jewelry? Can't seem to locate the maker's name. Thanks a bunch.

Can you post a picture of the mark and the jewelry. It will be easier to look up. Sometimes when you see the piece, the maker is easier to find.

Cheryl... maybe it's the artist's initials?

Isn't that just like children. I will keep looking. Since we have moved my books are in a couple of places.

I think I have it. Ginnie Johansen Designs. Does anyone have any information on this company? Can't seem to find anything solid on the Internet. The set is vintage. May have to wait until tomorrow to post photo.

Thanks, all.

Cheryl with a name like Johansen I would search out either danish jewelry designers or scandanavian jewelry designers. The e in johnasen should be danish. O is scandanavian.

GJD could also be Georg Jensen, but I doubt it since he usually only designed in silver.

You didn't say what kind of metal, if any, was the jewelry. Is is marked?

Hi all,

I don't think I've ever seen jewelry by this designer but I had a Ginnie Johansen belt once. It was very expensive and nice. Definitely high-end.

OhmsLucy she also designed clothes yes she did belts according to a website I got when putting Ginnie Johansen in Yahoo search.

The following is a website with a pair of earrings that she designed and she did use the GJD logo. So you were right cheryl.

WOW!!!!!!!!!! What a great set. Has the look of Goldette but much prettier. I will make a bet since her belts are quite pricy as I found out at a web site I bet these pieces were pricy also. Great Find Cheryl and thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Libra. What makes it even better is I paid $7.50 for it on eBay. Lucky find, I guess. Only has two very tiny black beads missing.
