I picked up 4 albums today at an auction for $22.00. #1 is a Decca records "Noel Coward Songs by Hildegard" #2 is Decca Records "The Complete songs of Bloomer Girl" #3 is Columbia Records, "Is Everybody Happy?" with Ted Lewis & Orchestra wth Sophie Tucker, #4, Columbia Records "CIRCUS" Ringling Bros, Barnum & Baily band with Merle Evans Bandmaster. All of the records appear to be in excellent condition. My question, is there any value in them? Or did I throw away my hard earned money? So,metimes you have play a hunc.

Circus items do VERY well, in my experience.

List your circus music record under Collectibles>Historical Memorabilia>Circus, Carnival>Other items and it should do well.

Elvis on a 78 is scorching hot, worth a small fortune & extremely rare on a 78.

Once sold a Beatles for $600 (and it had a big scratch)and a Jazz box set for $300.
There are some good books on old records.
There is a lot more to it than just the artist and label.
Records can be just like 1st edition books only 1st pressing. Like the Beatles album I sold was the the 1st pressing of Meet the Beatles pressed in American on the east coast. It was pure luck that I found this out and didn't let it go for 9.99
If I were you I'd try to find a website or get your hands on a good book. If you can find a price range at least you can tell it's worth checking out more.
Good luck

I am a newbie and I have a lotg of albums to sell 78's, 33's and 45's. I do my research on Ebay to see completed items and MOST importantly I found two music pricing books that have been a great help. They are called "Goldmine" record album price guide. They have many different editions. I bought the 'LP' & thye '45" books from Amazon. Thay are worth the price!
