an influx of newbie bidders over the past month or so? I've been watching some auctions sky-rocket because two newbie bidders got into a war over the items. I've also has to file more NPBs than usual, too. Oh, and another thing, why is it that whenever you get an excuse from someone for not paying it is because they "just got out of the hospital"? But you check their bidding history, and yep, they have been bidding all along. Hmmmmm ....

I get a lot of low FB bidders, 99 percent are just great.
I even met a fellow horse owner and we keep in touch about her youngsters.

Well Diane, we got the same bidder. I wrote and told her that I saw that she had been bidding almost every day for the last 2 weeks. A caouple of other buyers have written to me about her. I have given her until tomorrow so get an express payment, if not, I will file NPB. Hopefully by then, she will be suspended! I am so tired on NPB's, some who were good customers, now either suspended or just no responses.

Amber -- I have already filed on her. I flatly don't believe her, but if I get her payment before the NPB goes through, of course, I will stop it. She'll be NARUd very shortly though. I've received e-mails from other sellers about her, too. I've already blocked her. But really, it seems that whenever there's an excuse it's because they've "been in the hospital". I get it all the time!

Bizzy, I agree, the hospital thing is just an excuse. That's why I wrote and told her that I saw she was bidding right along. I am sure that some newbies don't realize you can check their bidding history, they need to know that they can be caught out in their lies. She has till today's mail for me to get the payment, then I file.

Not only have I had an influx of NPBs, I've reported three bidders in two weeks with invalid email addresses. All newbies.

Does anyone think that it's the different commercials that ebay is now using? Did anyone see the one with the clocks? I really thought it was a great commercial! I know we have new bidders every day, BUT I have noticed a HUGE influx of new bidders. One of the biggest problems with new bidders is that they don't bid responsibly. They get in over their heads by bidding on too many items or too much on an item and then can't pay. They just don't seem to understand that this is EBAY and that those "rare" items will come along again. They always do!

"They get in over their heads by bidding on too many items or too much on an item and then can't pay."

That's exactly right, Bizzy.

These newbies "win" and then POOF! seem to
disappear into thin air. Emailing them does no
good and is a waste of time.

I automatically submit the NPB/Item Dispute/
FVF thing, move on and relist.
