For quite some time I have compared my eBay selling prices to what Replacements asks for a comparable piece of china. I was told by a bidder that this is illegal. I can't see what would be wrong with it. They put there prices on the internet for every to see. All you have to do is go to www.replacements.com/webquote & choose the M<fr & the pattern. The prices are there to see for each piece.

Why could it be illegal to sell something at the going price?
Tell your bidder annoying E-mail is also illegal-it's called spam!

Ask the bidder which rule it violates.

Do I get their prices? OMG NO!! I try to price at abou50 to 60 per cent of what they ask. Recently I sold a Lenox pl;atter that they were askin $297.95. I sold the same size platter for $175.00. They would have given me $60.00.
I am putting on a lot of Franciscan "Apple" staring tonight, at about 40% of their asking price.

I think putting in your description that "Replacements charges such and such" is a bit tacky. Check Replacements and what they are getting on EBay and go from there.

I'm not sure I see what's wrong with quoting Replacements' price in an auction description. It's still advertising for Replacements, and people who don't know about them may want to visit their site someday. I think Sanmar has been clever in quoting that.
I suppose he could be more clever and say something like "$200 elsewhere if you're looking to replace this dish."

Replacements looks like it's on ebay, therefore they may have a foothold on auction interference.
Just a thought!

Maybe you could say "at some of those china replacements sites". If it's in lower case, then the word is not a business name, it's an adjective for a site.
Just a thought.

The auctions I am putting tonight only say "Check Replacements prices at replacements.com"
I don't quote their prices in my TOS. I really don't think its tacky. They are on eBay & have an eBay store as well. Sure I sell to them as well as compete with them on eBay

"Check Replacements prices at replacements.com"
Sanmar: Seems alot of other sellers state
the replacements.com thing on eBay too.
Tell that nosy bidder to mind their own
business.

I wouldn't use Replacements.com just what teri ann suggests "at some of those china replacements sites"
Can using Replacements.com be a Vero thing? Did the email come in the form of ask the seller a question? If so did you check out who the email was from and see what they sold on eBay?
