Kevin - if you are still on dial up can you tell me how fast my images load? I have always wondered and now you have me worried (after the no images post).. TIA

neglus,
On both the "GRUSS AUS..." and "...STREET SCENE HAYTI..." auctions it took aproximately 20 seconds for the pictures to load. Much faster than earlier. I gave up on the "Nouveau" one earlier (After about 1 minute) when I posted my note.
I hope that this is the info you wanted. Yes, I am still on Tin Can & String dialup.

Thanks Kevin - 20 seconds is ok isn't it? or would you give up if shopping?
I know my images are large (I do condense them a little in IRFAN) but I really think you can see the details better with larger images and that helps sell cards.

Neglus, I think your listings are great. You can really see the condition and pictures. I picked up some postcards this summer but they're not selling for much. Can't believe you have 167 on that one. WOW.

Neglus -- Here is a way to figure out how long your images load if a bidder is using 56k dial-up. Take the image in bytes and multiply it by 8. Then divide that total by 42000 and the final amount is the time in seconds to load.
I asked this a few weeks ago and one of the posters gave me the formula.

Diane,
Remember that the formula only works if they are pulling at full power. My 56k usually runs between 40-45k. My Mom's runs about 36k. Big difference.
neglus,
"I" wouldn't change a thing. Within the first few bars of the picture I can tell that this is high quality. I, personally, will wait for clear, clean pictures on anything that I buy. (Unless they are using stock photos) I have found that with my stuff most of my buyers prefer the high quality, slow load compared to a fast load with poor definition.
Nice stuff!!! Makes me want to start collecting Post Cards!
