Last year I left everything running right through Christmas and did almost 1/3 of my months total from Christmas day to the end of the month. Lots of people using bonuses and Christmas Cash from Auntie to buy their fun stuff after Christmas.

Just be aware that if they have a FLD, it will likely be the day after Christmas.

If I stayed at home, I would definitely be listing before, during and after Christmas...I always travel for 2-3 weeks during that time because of my wife's schedule, as she is a college instructor and has a set schedule - Kids too, they are off school, I can go anytime! In order to plan for these long trips, I actually start to shut down auctions around Thanksgiving (Tonight is the first Sunday since summer I have no auctions to close!) and I go back up after the 1st of the year. Even though I did not run many auctions for Thanksgiving weekend, my store business was about double the normal Sunday, so people are on ebay during holidays.

I sell antiques & collectibles seasonally---it used to be October to May now its Mid October to February---or into March if there's snow on the ground.

January for the last 7 years has always been my best month and I'm going into my 9th year but 8th January.

I think a lot of people buy for themselves during January for the things they didn't get or held back on.

My vintage toy sales do really well in January but have been surprised at sales just this late fall/early winter.

So many sports on TV and guests in town that I think people get away and cruize eBay to get away from it all for ahile.......just my .02.
