had a high bidder with the feedback name:4thedeviland with private feedback!
emailed bidder last night and asked for explanation of the PF and didn't hear anything from them.
so this morning I cancelled their bid and explained why and of course they immediately email me then!
said he'd has his identity stolen under another user name and was skeptical about many things since.
I emailed him back and said even with PF he could get his identity stolen, but PF sounded like bad feedback to me. I did remove him from my blocked bidders list...but didn't tell him I thought his ebay named was sucky.

Yea, not a good name.
However, I have one customer who has her feedback private and when she first purchased, I worried. That was many purchases ago. She never did say why her feedback was private and I didn't ask after the first time. Oh, she has 100% positive feedback. Really strange.

I thought with private feedback you could still see ratings and comments..just not a FB number and you can't search items they are bidding on etc

PF doesn't stop anyone for seeing the number of FB - good or bad. You just can't read the FB.
I think some people use PF if they buy on ebay and resell the same item at a higher price.
