Im not sure what the point of this feature is.Since you cannot deal off Ebay-you already have to an auction running. That being said, you can already run a search on what your looking for,so why post what your looking for.

I sent a link to a store item to someone and they bought it within hours. The reason they couldn't find the item in search is that they were mis-spelling the name - not a hard to find item at all!

I have had Ok luck as well. I am running about 50% success with them in the first week. Time will tell if it is worth it in the future.

It looks like want it nows run for 30 days. So if someone wanted something you had, you could put it up for auction and then respond to their post.

But I see a lot of misuse already. People are begging for money. As in "I need Christmas money to buy presents for my boys" yeah right. And people are also using it as an auction listing. I saw one person who had a lot of 40 perfume bottles to sell and another one who was advertising some sort of service in Ohio.

cherished...I agree about the misuse. I'm not cold-hearted...but I got turned off fast with people begging for money...anyone seriously down on their luck can go to local organizations and churches...not ebay...give me a break. eBay...take off people begging or seller won't look at this new feature....

I thought that this would be the first result. Please, I want Blah Blah Blah and I want it for free! Oh brother!!! If I don't get enough of that in my inbox each day.
However, if, and thats a mighty big if, people will use it properly it could be a good thing. Several times I have gone looking for something and not found it because I wasn't using the current term or spelling it correctly. Oh well, time will tell.

Those people begging for money clearly don't have much for brains. There is no way to contact them unless you make an auction. And there is no one going to make an auction stating, "get your free money here."

When I talked to Ebay today (I can't get over the fact that they actually call me.) I told "Zach" about everyone's comments about the new feature.

I guess the feature will be reviewed by the powers that be after it runs for a few months.

Stonecold, I saw one that gave the PayPal ID of the begger so you could send money directly. That should be against some eBay rule.

Most of these people that are begging, do that all year long. They want everything for nothing and prey on any place that will give it.

As far as I am concerned, it is a waste of time. in the pottery & glassm most are looking such things a lid to a sugar bowl or T-pot. After looking at 12 pges of wants, I quit. a waste of my time.
