I am thinking I posted a bunch of dead stuff. I did great on the 50% off Fix-Price listings. I changed my listings this week so is it just me?

MAH: I heard some people around me at the flea market talking about ebay last week. It sounded like their lament was for shipping charges when they could (marbles in the mouth)..."go get it themselves." My thought, after hearing this was the only hope for ebayers income on the not-so-rare things, is left to those too busy to shop, or those who dont want to fight the crowds, and will gladly pay the shipping. The only thing with that is most of those people almost always wait until the last minute and that kinda shuts ebayer sellers out, unless they overnight or express.
Looks like traditional retailers are giving ebayers a run for it too, with their sales offerings ::shrug::. But I bet your listings will do much better over the weekend when people get a chance to sit on their computers more.

I agree... it's a matter of when people are at the computer shopping. I think they first look into the retail world, then they look on Ebay.
However, I was just reading an article in UsA today (from last week) that talked about how ONLINE shopping would be the winning trend this season. So time will tell.
I believer this weekend will be IT if IT is going to happen. Next week will be pushing it too much before the Holidays for people to want to buy and get items shipped by Christmas. My outlook is to have things available to look at for those who will return home from the malls exhausted and didn't find what they wanted.

I put everything with a buy iy now, sold one piece last night. I seems that the only way they are buying. The stores are having their problems as well. Yes your right,I think most people are holding off until the last minute hoping they can get it cheaper.

I live in a pretty big city and I don't know how it is everywhere else, but the retail stores are practically giving stuff away. I mean, for real. That could be a big part of it, along with shipping costs. I think I'm gonna go make some cookies, wrap some presents and take a little bit of a break until after Christmas when the collectors come out of hiding with their gift money!

Well...
Since NOV 1st, Ralphie & I have been having our BEST selling period since I moved to JAX from the HUB of the UNIVERSE, 3 years ago!
I give most of the credit to our STORE -- we've invested mucho time & moola into it & it has really paid off!
Back in AUG & SEPT, we were debating even staying with feeBay -- now we can't stop our little feetsies from doing constant HAPPY DANCING
Course, it could all go to KAKA next month

I'm very happy for you Tom!! I've been thinking of opening a store. I'm just discouraged with clients, really. I think I need to strike out on my own. My clients have really great stuff, but they think it's worth about three times what it will bring on ebay. Enough of my whining! What kind of cookies does Ralphie like? Since you're working so hard and successfully, you don't need to take the time off.

COOKIES??
Did somebody mention COOKIES???
For those of you out there of the canine persuasion who are suffering a bad case of lard-butt-itis, Ralphie highly recommends the Peanut Butter Flavor ANYTHING from...

I have had a record week with $ running twice average week - sold 275 items so far! I can't explain it because postcards have never been big December sellers...maybe lots of people are going to get pc's in their stockings!

I'm having one of those "IS ANYONE OUT THERE" weeks/month. Good thing I kicked b*** the last week in November or I'd really be depressed.
I think it's all my fault - I just wasn't really.

I opened up an Ebay store for the third time now. The first two times it wasn't worth it. This time I did a little re-vamping of my products and I am getting at least one sale a day. I sell inexpensive items but in time, they do add up. I am keeping my Ebay store open for a long time whereas before I only had it open during the Holidays. I am using any money from sales I get to re-stock my products.
My Vendio store usually has sales this time of year but only one or two a month. All items in there are gifts and collectibles. Most of the time I get several sales in late November and early to mid December.

My sell through rate is really great, but I can't believe the number of items that are closing with just one bid. If I had a crystal ball earlier, I would have gone straight fixed priced.
Roasted pecans, in butter with salt, and wine? Is that legal???

If you're buying cheap junk for a half assed relative, then you're correct. Go to the local .99 cent store and buy their present. If you're looking for quality hard to find gifts for someone you're close to, there's plenty of time. With Bidpay and paypal plus Priority or Express mail and FedEx, you can win an item as late as the 23'rd and have it under the tree Christmas morning. Just depends on how big a cheapskate you are.

It's been a record two weeks for me as well, but what I sell are perfect for this time of year, so that's to be expected. But on the other hand, I do nearly nothing through most of the summer.
Some things are just seasonal, it's not always eBay's fault.
