I got a phone call this morning that was suppose to be from E-Bay telling me about a 50% off FP listing Promotion today. I know it was fake but why would somebody go to the trouble? I sent the E-Mail to Spoof.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

People posted similar incidents on ebay store board and seller central board. I checked with Live Help - no 1/2 FP listing day.

There must be something to it though - you are the third person I have seen who had the same thing happen. Was your call from SL City too? Someone wrote that they called the number back and it went to an ebay recording... let's hope this isn't in lieu of FLD!

I hope not either, they even told me they would refund all my listings fees for today because it was their fault. But I won't believe anything until tomorrow when I see it on their announcement board. This is nuts I have never known of them calling people the day before a promotion surely they are not hungry! And this would be a pain in our ass because people will want the stuff for Christmas. I still say it doesn't make sense.

Maybe it's to counteract Overstock's FLD tomorrow?? I read that several people had the same experience on the Powerseller board too -- wish I knew for certain! Maybe it's just certain "select" (not me) sellers!

Now there is an interesting situation. Maybe two windows open on each site and list the same items on both at the same time. Now that will be a trick.
