I had a auction that ended last night with one bid. The winner had written me prior to the end stating that she lived in Italy and wanted to know if I would ship it Global Priority for xx and would I mark it as as gift.
I replied that I would be happy to ship it Global but would not mark it as a gift. The email was returned as was the follow up emails. I thought of answering on the auction but felt that maybe embarrassing for her
Well she bid anyway and won. After the auction she sent me the same email again.
I will try again but still don't want to lie on the postal ticket.
What can I do if my emails are returned again.
Thanks

Bad news - I don't Global Priority is available in Italy - it wasn't last time I checked anyway.

Nope. You can't do global priority to Italy. They are still considered a third-world country, and have one of the WORST mail systems on the planet.

The only international packages that I have ever had lost were to people in Italy. I have more "-----.it" addresses in my blocked bidder list than any other country.

Avoid Italy altogether if you can, but if not make it VERY clear that the buyer will wait a LONG time before they get the package. Probably MORE than 6 weeks.

Italian mail sucks.

Buyers in Italy are great - the mail service sucks and buyers know it! I get most of my Italian payments by registered mail. You can only insure a package to Italy to a maximum of $40 and I think you have to send it registered to get insurance.

I've only had two packages lost and one was to Italy. I only have one customer from Italy, and I always say a prayer whenever I mail her packages.

Shippments to Italy can be sent Global Express - I just checked. Very expensive but she knows that.
I am sending her an invoice and will just ignore the gift request???

The mail system is the pits so do not be surprised if it goes 6-8 weeks and it is expensive. But my last 2 transactions to Italy have went rather quickly, so good luck. Up to that point it had been real slow, but Italian buyers know that the mail is slow and expensive. so good luck!!!
