to file a chargeback? I bought an item and paid for it on the 6th. I paid for Priority shipping. I emailed the seller a couple of hours ago asking where my item is (I think 11 days is long enough to wait from Florida to Ohio) and the email bounced as invalid. Of course, I reported it. I no longer mess around with invalid email addresses. Fortunately, with shipping the item was under $10, but I'm not going to let him/her keep my money if I can help it. Should I give it until Monday? I'd hate to file and then have it show up. I've never had this happen to me.

Thanks all!

Cheryl

You waited this long so I would say wait till next week. I also once had an email address of a buyer bounce back and I called Ebay, there ans to me was, we can't do anything about that, but you can request there personal information I was told.

I said, when a person registers don't they need a working email?...They said "we can only go by the email they give us.........lol

Hi Cheryl,
I would contact Paypal ASAP to report the situation and state that you have paid on the 6th & when you inquired about shipping status, your email bounced back. At least review what they have to say about the issue.

Cheryl,

The first thing I would do would be to check with your credit card company and find out how long a time period you have available to file a charge back. Then... if it is possible, I would wait longer. The mail delivery IS slower this time of year. (Not that it's always that reliable other times of the year... I just had a bidder from Texas say that my item I sent from Virginia TWO MONTHS ago just arrived. (we were both pleased it finally got there!))

Anyhow, the USPS themselves will not even begin to look for a missing package until 30 days has expired. It's probably their policy for a good reason. (one of the many reasons I don't take Paypal, since their terms require claims to be filed BEFORE 30 days expire... it's a big conflict in policies between the two services, and I don't see a way to use both services and avoid conflict.)

Ideally, you'd be getting some sort of communication from the seller... but, it is possible that something's going on with their account, they're on vacation, and don't even know about it. How credible is their account history/feedback?

My advice... wait a bit longer (if you credit card company says you can) and keep trying to get in touch with your seller. Good luck and hope your package arrives!

Dumb question #33:

When I buy something on Ebay, which is very seldom, I use the money I have in my PayPal account to pay. Are chargebacks only for credit card purchases or is there a way to get my money back from PayPal anyway?

Out of 23 feedbacks, he has 3 negs for non-delivery. Since they were months ago, thought I'd give him a chance on a low cost item. My mistake apparently. I'll wait until next week. This was to be a Christmas gift. Looks like I'll have to scramble and force myself to the mall. Ken is in a band and loves to wear kwirky clothes. This shirt has a patch on the pocket that says Village Idiot. Thought it would be the perfect thing! Now he expresses an interest in a chef's jacket and hat. Yes, you read that right. Last year I got him a Fred Flintstone t-shirt and he's about wore that out. I may just go out to the discount uniform store we have here and get him the other outfit.

Cheryl, what size is he? I have a Mister Potatoe Head short sleeve cotton shirt. I think it's a small. I'll have to do some searching to find it, but it's here somewhere.

Cheryl,
Have a leisure suit, vintage t shirts, all kinds of fun stuff. Just got my hands on a white leisure suit "John Travolta" the other day. Have a 3piece official Johnny Carson suit also. Too fun!

Classicrock: Okay, so you and I both acknowledge it's a dumb question--but I still would like to get an answer. Is there *any way* I can get my money back when I've paid for something with funds in my PayPal account rather than with a credit card?

Phone the seller.

Thanks, sthoemke. I've been hoping there was another way, but I guess I'll phone the seller this weekend when the rates are lower. Like Cheryl, my item is under $10 too, but I'd like some of that back for non-delivery of goods. (Books sent in brown grocery bag, loosely taped; bag arrived empty.) The longer the seller goes without answering my e-mails, the madder I'm getting.

When I met Ken, he was a medium. He's now at least a large! LOL!

Roadsmith ... Yes, I did. I had a seller misrepresent something and refused to refund. I filed with paypal and filed fraud charges with ebay. I received my refund.

I have another one where the woman sent me copies instead of an original. She never answered my e-mails. Paypal refused to do anything about it. So I filed fraud with ebay and lo and behold she responded. I sent back the copies but haven't received my refund yet. If not, I'll file again with ebay.

Diane
