We have acquired a large collection from grandmas bone china tea cups. Most have large flowers, gold rims on cups and saucers. Bought in 1960 thru the 1970's. From the following mfg: Royal Stuart, Churgai, shashi, royal albert, salisbury england, occupied japan,.

Any tips on how to market these? Special pictures, values? etc thanks

For what it's worth, this is what we do with teacups/saucers nowadays: ....

I would take 2, 3 or 4 pictures depending on how intricate (1 of the photos with the hallmark if it's visible) ...... and start each out at $5 ...

What about if you have just saucers?

Do you have any Shelly cups? They are great sellers.

When it comes to saucers I think the people that make soap buy them and use them for their soap dishes, that is if they are pretty.
The cups that have the design on the inside of the cups should do good. I know when I go to buy cups the inside of the cup has to have a design.

Did you search cup saucers? also check description.

Libra is right. Shelly cups do well. I sold a bunch of cups and saucers from England about 4 years ago; they each brought $12 - $30 or so. My impression, though, is that the prices have gone down on the more common ones since then, like everything else.

Shelley does well, but, unfortunately, not as well as it use to like everything else but worth listing. Royal Albert has its own category and can do well based on the patterns. Anything with a violets pattern, regardless of manufacturer, has done well for me "in the past".

Quality bone china cups and saucers use to regularly sell in the $30 category but you can't beat the sellers listing them 4 for $9.99.

Oh yes, you are all correct ... prices have come down big-time compared to the good old days ... on teacups and everything else ... {sigh} ... but we all knew it was coming.

EstateSaleStuff:

You're right! We knew it was and has been coming for a long time. I've been selling like crazy liquidating anything and everything. I'm not going to hunt down nearly the inventory I've had in the past. If I come across something, great, if not...

So many people, say keep up with the market, but you really can't when there is no market. I use to be pleased to sell something for $4.99 plus shipping; now I hardly list anything less than $9.99 and just move on.

Price deflation has hit antiques and collectibles and I don't see it changing.
I'm glad I sold strong between 1997 and 2001.

Still make a few $$ but not like it use to be. I can't knock the computer and marketing knowledge I've learned "on the job" though.

My daughter collects the saucers and displays them around here dining room. I'm sure there are a lot of others that do this as well.
