Hey folks,

I posted this question in another category a few days ago, but nobody's responded. Just wondering if you use the Vendio WBN or PayPal's automated email to send to your winning bidders after an auction is over.

I've got some auctions ending tomorrow night and Thursday night, just wondering which I should use, or maybe neither, since PayPal is so integrated into auctions and EOA emails anyways...

Which do you use & why? I'd appreciate hearing your views. Thanks.

I use my auction service's EOA mail. It's not Vendio, but it's the same concept. They go through my checkout, which saves me from needing to enter their address, and also intelligently recommends upsell items while they are checking out.

I end up selling quite a few extra items every week through the upsell feature. It really does work!

Of course, the email also includes the info needed for direct Paypal and postal payments, but most people do go through the checkout anyway.

Actually, MOST people just click on the checkout button in my auctions, which takes them directly to the checkout. They never even bother reading the email. I'd estimate 3/4 of my orders are paid for before I even know the item has sold It's that other 1/4 that cause the headaches ;(

I do the same only I use Vendio. Most of my buyers go through the checkout and pay before they get the WBN.

I use Vendio for all automated emails to buyers, WBN, payment reminder etc. I also use it instead of eBays My eBay, it seems to be more clear cut and easier to track.

The buyers seem to be split between paying before they get the notice and those that go through the Vendio checkout.

There are glitches to overcome in both systems, but figure I am paying for the Vendio service, I am going to use it.

One glitch is that a 2nd chance does not show up in Vendio, since it wasn't listed through it, and is irrating to have to go to my eBay to service those sales. Louise

That's interesting, I wouldn't have thought checkout was so popular. Guess I should set that up before my auctions end tomorrow night.

I used to use another auction service, never used their checkout. Most people used PayPal and would follow the PayPal link in the auction, probably becuase I didn't offer a checkout.

On a sidenote, I hear PayPal and eBay EOA emails will be integrated in one single email in the new year.

I use Ebay invoice and avoid the Vendio checkout altogether.

I'm not sure about Vendio's checkout, but when buyers click on the eBay checkout button, they get redirected to MY checkout, not the default eBay one. It's called "checkout redirect."

Very nice.

Hmmm, that "checkout redirect" sounds pretty good! I might use that.

It's the same with Vendio. When they hit the eBay checkout they are redirected to Vendio.

There are some people who don't like a checkout, but 99% of them don't mind. I have a lot who e-mail how easy it is. I also have some who complain. They are the ones who also ask stupid questions. "Do I have to pay before you send my order?"

Vendio makes it easy. Everything is right there for you.

Yes, same here. A natural troublemaker/complainer is always going to find SOMETHING to complain about.

As you said, 99% of the people either don't mind or actually like it.
