Have I been living in a cocoon or what? There are many garage / estate sales going on today. Not only that, it looks like some of the stores are having big sales ! I thought everything was closed on New Years day? Where have I been for the last few years, under a rock? I guess so. Maybe this is a new thing.

Ha, ha, ha, classic. FYI, it's bright sunny and relatively warm here today. The 2 feet of snow is gone finally. Try having to go to a birthday party today! My niece is having a 1 year birthday party for her daughter. No, I'm not going. It's a holiday and I'm beat. I had my granddaughter last night and we were up most of the night. I played Candy Land FIVE times and spent the rest of the evening watching children's videos. I have to admit, it was fun having her over, but at the same time it was tiring.

Yes, many stores here are having sales today. It's traditional. Although garage sale season ended long ago around here you will occasionally come across one.

I havn't look today but there were 4 garage sales listed yesterday in Jax Fl so we hit the trift stores.
I didn't find much but it was a beautiful day to get out.

"I played Candy Land FIVE times"

Damn that brings back memories-I played that all the time 50 years ago.

You NEVER outgrow Candyland! I got my neice "Chutes & Ladders" for Christmas. She's wanted it for a few months and finally got it. We played it once all the way through Christmas morning. Naturally she won. What did the big winner have to say?

"I like Candyland better"

LAST year's big boardgame gift.

I can't wait until she's old enough to learn Chess & Settlers of Catan...

Tiffany has Chutes and Ladders, too, but prefers Candyland. She brought over Junior Scrabble, but I could get it set up. The darn print on the instructions is too small! I should have had her read them to me. We also play a Lion King game. That darn thing took 15 minutes just to set up. It has "challenges" that have to be assembled each time you play it. What a PIA!

Nothing here in Minnesota. Garage sales end here in early November, but estates do run year round. I guess the estate companies remembered that today was a holiday. Besides, it is friggin cold. The temp isn't too bad at 20, but the wind at 40 mph is a killer.
