***5p Listing Day: 6th January 2005***
Date: 04/01/05 Time: 04:55:41 PM GMT


The January sales are in full swing so why not join in and earn yourself some extra cash. Take this opportunity to clear out your cupboards, sell off excess Christmas stock or get rid of any unwanted Christmas presents.
For the entire day of Thursday 6th January 2005 (GMT), sellers listing in Auction-style, Auction-with-Buy it Now (BIN) or BIN-Only (Fixed Price) formats in an eligible category, will pay 5 pence (£0.05 GBP) insertion fee regardless of the insertion fee tranche.

Only listings in British Pounds Sterling on eBay.co.uk will qualify for 5p Listing fees. Auction-style listings, Auction with Buy It Now and Fixed Price (Buy It Now).

Items listed in the Automotive (Cars, Classic Cars, Motorcycles or Other Vehicles) and Real Estate categories and Multiple-Item Auction format listings (also known as Dutch Auctions) are not included.

There is actually a twist to this latest 'cheap' listing day. Any modification to the auction after the '5P listing Day' means you pay regular price. As we normally revise the price (usually downward) on Fixed price auctions during the listing run, we can't do this anymore. We are also used to completely revise listings during mid run to drum up interest, or replace them with another of an in demand 'sold' auction item...

Unfortunately, this flexibility has vanished

I bet most sellers won't notice the "modification" fees, and end up paying the regular rates.

EXCELLENT! That's the main drawback to the FLDs. Too many unprepared sellers who list dummy items and (maybe) fill in the blanks later.

Either be prepared for FLD or skips it. Don't try to "cheat the system".
