Inserting a flyer with an order is hardly new. My question has to do with content.
If someone wins a DVD with an adult theme (item not listed in the Adult section), what about inserting a flyer containing various other DVDs in the same genre, some of which may be hardcore?
Am I overthinking this?

If you are clearly a professional pronography seller, and it is clear from your auction ad that that's what you specialize in, and that's the type of movie the buyer bought, then it's probably not innapropriate.
If you are miscellaneous-movie seller, and the flyer is going to be a shock, then no.
Is there any kind of law forbidding sales of pornography to certain areas of the country? I know there are towns & counties where you can't set up a shop... What about Postal Laws?
I think I'd rather avoid the whole issue and skip the flyer. Maybe a flyer without pictures or anything too suggestive. Just make it clear that you have similar items on your website and leave it at that.

Besides, if you are using media rate, the flyer would be a no-no, I believe. And if your package was one of the ones they open to spot-check, you'd end up having to pay a higher rate to send it.

If the flyer is related to what you are selling, and the buyer knows what they are buying up front, then go ahead and send the flyer.

That reminds me of when I purchased the DVD of Spy Kids on eBay some time ago. Come to find out the seller was another one of these sleezy porn sellers.
He emailed me offering to include other porn titles. I was like "WTH kind of movie did I buy?!?, is this kiddie porn?"
Turns out he just made a mistake, but I was no less offended. I felt like I was dealing with the Sleeze of the Internet (first cousin to 'Scum of the World').
How about selling somthing of value instead of propagating a plague?

Why not scan a copy of the flyer and post it here? That way you can get a better consensus from the prudes, perverts and undecideds.

Ask your buyers first if they would like a list DVDs of the same genre, some of which may be hardcore.

I would suggest putting together a middle of the road flyer with a push to your store or site with "more videos starring XYZ" or more videos from XYZ" mentioning stars or production companies that would be recognizable to people interested in more hardcore material. Just don't include them in packages going to Pennsylvania.

I think I mis-read the original post.
Are stating that the first DVD won is not porn?
If so, then it is not OK to send the flyer with the porn titles in it. The buyer is not purchasing porn and clearly this would be in violation of many laws and rules.
You could ask the buyer if they would like a flyer that contains porn titles. Then if they say yes, then send it. Otherwise, no do not send it.

To clarify, I would not send the flyer out of the blue. It would be sent to someone who ordered a film, perhaps mainstream, with, for example, a lesbian theme.
I would then send a flyer containing several other lesbian films, some of them hardcore.
