I received a neg yesterday from a buyer, because she couldn't contact me. She also complained that I didn't tell her I accepted credit cards through PaYPal. If she had read my TOS, she would not have had a problem contacting me. First of all, it states very plainly "I accept credit cards through PayPal." Send payments to [email protected]. Well, she sent payment to another email address so I haven't received payment because P/P doesn't recognize the email address. Everyhing would have been so simple if she had read the TOS.

Not only neg the idiot back, file a UID on her if you haven't received the money. Her first reaction will be to respond madder than hell. As soon as she responds, you can immediately nail her with a strike and get your FVF credit. She will be forced to learn how to read and follow instructions if she wants to get that strike removed.

When this is over & done with(I asked her remove the neg) we will see what happens next. It burns my AZZ that people are so daxx lazy or ignorant that they can't read the TOS. Mine so simple & sraight forward that a 10 year old can understand it. I did this on purpose so that almost everyone can understand it. Just found one can't or didn't read it.

There are millions of listings on Ebay and zillions of sellers with individual TOS.
who has time to read all the TOS?
I dont have any TOS in my description, and i let paypal send out the invoice.

I've been thinking of eliminating the TOS and description from my listings. Nothing but pictures and price. I'll be able to list twice as many as I do now in the same amount of time.

sanmar....
you gotta neg her first then she'd be wiling to agree to the mutual feedback removal. Otherwise she has no incentive to get your removed.
stopwhinning........ don't forget! Paypal no longer sends out invoices seperately. It will be folded into the Ebay EOA notification. Your personalized message you had with the paypal notices should be tagged into the Ebay combined ones but you may want to log in and the check the wording of the message.

As long as I am posting on eBay (which with the coming fee increases may not be much longer) and we are taking payments via PayPal or our own Merchant's Account, I'll keep my TOS - if the customer doesn't read it, it isn't my responsibility. I've had the company who handles our Merchant's Account back me up, when customers try to make returns in violation of our posted TOS.
NOW, as to why customers don't read the TOS - most buyers don't read half of the description - I get endless questions which are answered in the description - but after years at this I have just learned to live with it.
The little buying we do, we read everything, the feedback, the TOS, we check to see if they have a web site, we check their web site prices and web site items, and just last week we made a major purchase, and I think my husband talked to the seller at least 3 times on the phone before we finalized the deal....it was an item in the $2,500 price range, so we were very careful, and investigated everything possible, and got the finalized deal in writing.
IF someone had the answer as to how to get buyers to read descriptions and/or TOS - they could make a mint selling such information.
Just resign yourself to the fact that very few buyers do much of anything but look at the price, and pictures.
