I got this one in my mail this morning.
"> I ordered axis and allied last year from you and paid paypal and never
> received the game. Thanks.
> "
I dropped his email address into my auction system and it popped right up that he had paid for the game on December 5th and that I had shipped it on the 5th. Funny thing, I couldn't find his payment on the Paypal site or find any kind of working tracking number (I ship everything either UPS or USPS w/EDC).
45 MINUTES later I plop his email into the "search all" in my mail program and pop up his Paypal payment, which was in fact dated December 5th... 2003!
I thought he meant last year as in 6 weeks ago. Not 13 freaking MONTHS ago!!!
This was a real waste of time, although I am impressed that I actually was able to reconstruct the entire transaction so easily once I knew what was really going on.
So... What's the oldest "never got my item" mail have you guys come up with?

Had some geezer looking for his walking cane -- told him there twasn't a ghost of a chance & he should drop dead!
Still waiting to hear back (from the beyond) from him...

Ralphie, funny you should ask. I don't have Madonna's bra, but I do have Nascar driver,Jimmy Johnson,'s nuts. His car is here in PC. The guy who transorts it is a friend of a friend and he gave them to me.
I'm wondering just how to word that auction?
Oh, I guess I should clarify that. I have his LUG nuts.

A truely visually evocative experience...

Actually, no. Although the tracking number no longer works, my system does show it was delivered three days later. I can't PROVE it at this stage, but fortunately I don't have to.
I just wonder what the story at the other end was. He can't POSSIBLY think I'm going to send him another one or give a refund this late?

I'll bet he just found the auction in his "leave feedback" page and, not remembering that he'd gotten the game, decided it was never sent.

My oldest one was only 3 months old. She wrote complaining that she never received the item. That was funny... she left me + feedback the day she had received it.
Never heard from her again after I sent her the link to the feedback. Can you say "Good Drugs?"
I told the guy basically, "Sorry about your luck!"
Now he's pestering me for a deal on another game, and I'm starting to worry about future problems. I want to add him to my BBL/Blocked Bidder List), but I'm not sure how to find out what his user ID is after all this time.
I have his actual name & mailing address, as well as his email address and a year old eBay auction #.
How can I find his ID?

MSLucy: Very good suggestion. It didn't work, but it was close.
Paypal didn't have it anymore. The payment was still there, but it wanted to link to eBay for the specifics of the transaction and it was just too old for that.
BUT I do still have the Paypal payment notification email and it had the ID on it. So here's a lesson: NEVER DELETE YOUR OLD EMAILS.
Problem solved, thanks!

You can get their userid by enterint their email address from Ebay. It's on the page you go to if you want to pull their contact info.
