WTF is this kaka-popo???

I just listed some items & discovered this "option" in the "promotional financing" area of SYI...

"Special offer! "$10 off your first purchase" will be displayed for items over $50 (FREE for sellers)"

$10 off $50 ??????????????????

I don't think so!

But ... (and that's a BIG but), if it were $10 off two or more $50+ items, then I might consider it ....... but $10 off of 1 $50 item ... nope.

ebay recent price increase policies, 'enhancements', site slowness and difficulties ... these all need to be dealt with.

Tomwii.. would ebay charge FVF on $40, or on the $50? ... does it even explain all that to you on your listing page?

Well, that's the PROBLEMO!

The only button is a "CHANGE" button & I donna want to change into a Republican, or some other equally horrible sub-species, so I donna PUSH da button!

I cannot find any explanation anyplace -- is this being paid for ($10) by feeBay, PayPal or Ralphie???

WTF knows???

HELP ain't NO HELP!!!

Is it not amazing that ebay didn't "announce" this "upcoming" featture BEFORE throwing it onto your do-up-a-listing page???????????

Is this one of those things they automatically mark for you and if you don't want it you have to opt out?

Hi all,

Here's an explanation I found on the eBay Seller Central Discussion Board.

The thread is titled: Sellers, If You Offer BUYER CREDIT On Any Of Your Listings - BEWARE - This Is For You. It was a discussion of the "Special offer! "$10 off your first purchase" will be displayed for items over $50 (FREE for sellers)" thing.

The post was from a pink.

" Hi All,

Just to clarify, sellers are not charged the $10 or any additional fees for this offer. Previously the low monthly payments logo stated "Financing Available".

Unless you choose to offer promotional financing (ie No payments for 3 months and no interest if paid in 3 months for total purchases greater than $199), a basic, low monthly payments message will automatically appear for items over $199.00 USD, letting buyers know they can use PayPal Buyer Credit to pay for your items.

To remove the 'Low monthly payments possible with PayPal Buyer Credit' Icon from your eBay listings, please follow these steps:

Log in to your eBay account

Click on My eBay

Click on eBay Preferences under My Account

Click on 'change' next to Payment preferences

Uncheck the box that says 'Show my buyers low monthly payments possible with PayPal Buyer Credit'

Click 'Submit'

Sellers are only charged fees in connection with PayPal Buyer Credit if you elect to offer Promotional Financing.

Best Regards, Amanda "

What's with this?

I have changed the buyer financing offer to NO in my ebay. I submitted. It still showed the $10 off a $50 or more purchase. I logged out of ebay. I logged back in. Checked the preferences in my eBay ...all is well.

I'm Relisting. Its still showing $10 off $50 or more purchase even though I have changed my preference.

I'm not loaning eBay $10 of $50 or more purchase until its credited back to me on the May account. oops... I misread. I don't get $10 credit on the May account, the buyer does.

What am I doing wrong in trying to get this removed from my listings... (except continuting to try to sell on eBay)? I don't want to offer this promotion to buyers.

From PayPal:

"The seller gets paid in full by PayPal right away. You make payments to the financial entity behind PayPal Buyer Credit, GE Capital Consumer Card Co."

As i read it, the seller isn't docked the $10...its part of the pitch to extend payments.

Was it the parentheses around Free For Sellers that threw you guys off. Does that make the included text invisible to windows users or something?
