I was thinking about listing an other site since I have an excellent source for books. It is worth bothering. I have tried to find the price for listing but have not been successful. Has anyone sold on Half.com.

I used to sell a lot (list a lot, that is) on Half.com, then it tanked about a year ago, and they were threatening to close it up so most of us took our books out and left. Now that they're open, I've listed just a few, and it's very very iffy! I think I've sold *maybe* a book a month--but a few days ago I sold one volume of a set for $39, which pleased me greatly.

I don't remember what they take for selling something for me, but there's no charge until a book is sold, and it's much easier to list a book there than on Ebay (no photo needed, for example). You get a shipping allowance, too, but sometimes it doesn't cover the media mail cost.

I'd say give it a try--take some of your books, search for them on Half.com and see what's happening there, and list maybe ten as a trial. It won't hurt you any, and it may be interesting to see what happens.

I always like: Amazon Marketplace much better -- nuthin $ to list, but expensive when ya sell...

OTOH: who cares about FEEDBACK one receives there, right?

If you have books for sale, Amazon would be better than half.com (in my opinion, of course).

I use both half and amazon. Half was great for me for quite a while, but once they started to announce closing it down, etc., I noticed a decline in business. I think part of it is that a lot of people starting moving their stuff elsewhere. I know I used to carry a lot more inventory on half - now have about 40% of what I used to have on there. Business on half is just plain bad. Through 2004, my half.com account was a silver level powerseller, and this is just on half, no ebay. Now, I consider $500 to be a good month (goodbye powerseller status!) but that is the way it is. Amazon has been surprisingly strong for me. I used to list, and then stopped because the $1 + 15% was a lit. I decided to open the seller account, for about $40 a month reasoning that it was a little over $1 a day, which means as long as I have a sale a day, it is break even from the old commission rate (If you have a seller account or store or whatever they call it, you don't have to pay the extra $1 commission. Sales have been good there, much better than half. I would try both, and see how it goes.

Thank you Roadsmith, Tom & Ralphie & Ebayvet. I will try to sell on the other sites to see which one would be the best for me. But I still couldn't find the cost of listing or selling on Half.com
thank you again,

half.com is 15% final value fee, but zero listing fee. Amazon basic is also free listing, with a 15% fee plus 99 cents
