You don't have to update IE if you don't use IE (use Firefox instead). I will NEVER go back to IE!! Come to think about it - does Firefox update automatically or do we have to go someplace to update? Why did it drive you nuts Jack?

I am on AOl with all the pop up blockers, and the operating system also have pop up blockers.
There is a site which i go to which has some information presented as a pop up window ,i was able to view them with no problem until a few days ago when my system crashed and the indian tech support instructed me to make some changes .
Since then ,this pop up window would not open.
so that where all the finger pointing begins among AOL,the site which provides this popup screen and the hardware manufacturer (compaq) and the software co MSFT.
Anyway,i called Compaq tech support, even tho they are not familiar with this pop up screen, they told me to download Firefox and try it.Well,to make a long story short,it works.
When the system crashed i was up all nite talking to Compaq India,Time warner of Houston,AOL tech support and i found the Indian to be more professional and helpful, even tho some of them do not realise AOL user cannot just get on internet with IE without first signing on with AOL ,but they sure learn fast.
Since my pc warranty expired eons ago,i have to pay them 40 dollars for the consultation (good for 2 weeks ) and they will stay on the phone as long as it takes to solve my problem.
I dont think these jobs are going to come back,my question to all of you is-
can we get the same service for 40 dollars if they are in the US??
