In unpacking I came across a gorgeous set of cups and saucers that I am waitng for my old mavica battery to recharge before I can photograph them. Hoping in the meantime that someone can help me identify them.

Bottom has green mark that is a triangularish shield with the text "Thomas" inside. On either side the shield extends out with three narrow "wing" sections. Below the shield are two wide set dot and "Bavaria". there are no other marks.

Sey is smooth white with gold trim with muted tone peach and blueish purple opened roses (?) with a small spray or graduated tone flowers that look like dogwoods (except dogwoods are not usually blue of course). Inside the up is a small grouping of leaves.

I'll post a pic shortly but any help in the meantime wouldd be appreiated.

Thanks in Advance!

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Thomas is a part of thr Continental Group with Rosenthal et al. It is an old company & makes quality china. Not as well known as Rosenthal, but high quality.

Thanks - here are the pics. Any hope of identifying pattern or era? (BTW - mark is actually green not black)

Sanmar - don't mean to interrupt but what do you mean by Continental Group. I have a set of Thomas that was sold to me as Rosenthal and there it sits.

Thank you! I looked through replacements but I think my brain had gone numb by the time I got that far. I think they are really pretty myself and this is not somethin that is normally my style. I think it is the unique colors that got me. Pretty but not too "flowery".

Thomas & Rosenthal are part of a conglomerate under the name Continental. I am guessing that both are made in the same plant or were. Don't know if Thomas is still being produced.
