$65,000 for an ugly purse? What are people thinking. I'm looking at the purses on eBay and I'm floored. I sell one for $25 (granted it's not designer) and I feel like it's too much. But, $65,000 for a plastic purse? You've got to be kidding.

I'm sure I see those in the local thrift store all the time! I never understand why people pay for a "name". Of course, no one has bid on it yet.

I once paid $45 for one of their scarfs at an estate sale - my friend said THAT'S $45.00 not $4.50. lol I sold it for $300.00 on ebay - so she never doubts me now.
But $65,000. I guess some people just want to be first to have one and will pay the price.

It's not plastic - it's leather and Amber, if you see genuine leather Birikin bags in you local thrift shop all the time, you probably should start buying them.

Please note that this auction includes the "Make an Offer" option so I thik it's probably a safe bet that the seller has no illusions of granduer on the price and is just testing the water and seeing what happens.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

People with more $$$ than brains spend this kinda cash. But $65K - maybe she's missing a decimal point. Think I'll ask her.

Even if it is leather, had to be some cow to warrant $65,000! I could pay off my house, take a nice cruise and buy a brand new SUV for that. I guess some people haven't anything else to spend their money on.

I like that bag, but I'm not into buying handbags, never have been. I have one for everyday, one for parties, and three inherited ones for formal occasions (translation: events I never go to). Period.

If it were about, say, $20, I'd buy it for my daughter, though. I like the flap style.

With Ebay's new make me an offer feature I would expect people to do rediculously high fixed price listings just to get attention and hope that someone offers them alot more than its really worth. i.e. Lets say the purse is actually only a $10 item - someone sees the auction and thinkin they are being a smartalec offers $100. That seller just did real well!!!

Any clown who spends $65,000 on a purse should be horsewhipped, sah! I say horsewhipped!

And then made to clear dead bodies in Indonesia...

I wonder if it was supposed to be $650? Imagine the fees. I don't have the gumption to figure them right now, but I sure wouldn't want to pay them.

If someone gave you $65,000.00 for an ugly purse!
You wouldn't mind the Fees at all.

It surely wasn't $650!

I sold a very similar bag that was used and somewhat scuffed. It was purchased new for $6000. I sold it for $7500. The buyer was very happy.

1. Hermes will fix the bag for free forever.
2. There is a waiting list for these bags, and I have heard that they're not taking any more names on.

I agree that it's too much for a handbag. However, some people think that $300k for a car is fine, $20M for a home is okay, so who's to say?

Cash is right. I think the list on this bag is around $6500. She may have added an extra zero by mistake.

It was featured in red on a Lucy-Lou episode of Sluts in the City a few years ago, I'm sure that everytime the show is re-run, the Ebay search hits go up.

Plus, you really can not order this bag any longer, so who knows? Maybe there is some Diva out there willing to spend Daddy's money on it.

LOL, the FeeBay police are reading VD again.

I think we get better Bay response by posting on VD than when we send them an email.
