A person from Sweden wants to bid on my auction. Does anyone know what the best way is to have payment made? In general do they request paperwork altered about their purchases? I would like to let him bid but I don't need any additional headaches. Thanks guys!

Let them pay you via Bidpay as that is a safe payment. It costs you nothing as they buy a U.S. money order and you get that in about a week or so.

Tomii, thought of you Tuesday on my way to dentist. Stopped into GotWile and they had a 2005 desk calendar with all of George Jr's Bushisms. You could enjoy them day by Day.
But being an anti-communist myself, I couldn't bring myself to buy it, even for you....

Or if the amount is small you could always ask for well-concealed US$ cash in an unmarked envelope i.e. not registered/insured mail. Works for many international sales if the amount including shipping is less than say $50...

Don't have them send a BidPay money order. Register with BidPay (using an email id just like PayPal) and have BidPay automatically deposit into your account. Much quicker, and you have an online account where you can keep track of who paid what when.
For large amounts, I also allow wire transfers. There is a $10-$15 fee that your bank will charge, so factor that in.

For $145 BidPay is the best option in this case. Paypal offers no protection to you. Wire transfer is too expensive for you and the buyer for this amount. It's BidPay or hit the road. You made the right call. Doesn't matter if you're registered with them or not, unless you accept lots of BidPay payments. Then it is a convenience to view your account history ala Paypal. Good luck.
