I don't know, but I reformatted my laptop and installed Avast anti-virus software and it wasn't 12 hours later that it was reporting that a virus was detected - I think it was in an email.
When we were out of town last week there was an email that I read through my server that said "Postmaster Undeliverable Mail" or something like that - that was a virus. Thank goodness I wasn't on my computer then.
Back to our regular programming...
I can't believe it...I bought a PAIR of hearing aids off of Ebay week before last that were from a seller that had VERY low feedback (like 7) and NO PICTURE...for way way cheaper than they should of gone for.
I paid $300 for a pair of hearing aids that sell for $1600. a piece. Brand new. One of the same kind of hearing aids sold the next week for $890. for ONE aid, but to a seller with better feedback and a picture.
I almost feel bad for the seller of my hearing aids. I emailed him before the auction was over and wanted to feel him out to see if it was a legitimate auction or not and in every email he was very polite. So I took a chance and put in a high bid.
After sweating it out for a week (they came from the UK) they arrived today and they were brand new.
I saved almost $3,000.!!
I emailed the seller and thanked him and left him the best possible feedback I could - and offered to take a picture (he said he didn't have a camera when I enquired about his lack of a picture in his auction) of my aids if he had any more to sell.
When I was emailing back and forth about insurance from the UK (extra compensation to them) he said if there was anything wrong with them that he would replace them. I do know that in the UK that they get hearing aids free if they need them, but I don't know why or how he had these to sell.
I can't wait to get them programmed so I can wear them. The ones I'm wearing now are not digital so I'm sure these will be a major improvement over the ones I have now.
Oh and the underbidder emailed me within a few minutes of the auction ending and was unhappy that they didn't win them and thought maybe I bought them for resell and offered to buy them from me.

I bought an action figure for $5 from a seller that had no clue what it was they were selling and horribly misdescribed it. I stumbled across it while trying to find something else that I collect, recognized it and swooped it up. I relisted it the night I recieved it and it closed a week later for $150.

This reminds me of that post on "You know you're addicted to ebay when........"
You all just described the deal you MADE on ebay, not what you GOT on ebay. LOL! UNfortunately, I'm too cheap to buy anything on here. Don't want to spend that hard earned money. But I am gettin' itchy for spring estate and garage sales. Goodwill just aint good enough anymore.

Back in 1999, before I bought a computer, I was on webtv & decided to switch to a webtv plus so I could put pictures on my auctions.
I found one new in box with 1 year of free access listed on eBay & the seller had zero FB. I emailed him as to where he got it & he said he won it as a door prize at an electronics show & had no need for it.
He sounded sincere so I took a chance & bid. I was the only bidder & got it for 25.00 + 10.00 postage. It was NIB with 1 year free access as stated.
I saved over 300.00
glassgrl,

Are we only talking about Ebay buys here? I bought an old trunk at a barn sale. I bought it because it was full of old horse tack. Had some good head stalls, bridles etc, from the 1920's in it. The whole thing went for 50 bucks. The trunk itself turned out to be a 1920's vintage Louis Vuitton steamer. It went off on Ebay (minus the horse junk) for 1800.00...

I bought a lot of costume jewelry back in 1998 for $44. Turned out to all real, not costume. I'm still not even halfway done selling it(not on Ebay.....at Christie's mainly), and it's already brought in over 200K.

Same here Jack. Swapmeet vendor didn't have a clue. Sold me what he thought was a video game console. Didn't have a power supply, so he didn't know if it worked. It was a Videonics video editor. I gave him $5.00, took it home, put a PS on it and it worked perfectly. Sold it for $550.00.
