When I go to the Sales Manager page I get this at the top of the page in RED -- "Warning: Your eBay authentication token will expire soon. You can update the token here". Anyone know what this means? I haven't done anything different.

Not a clue, but someone will know.

stuff that will make them scream, cry, howl in pain and anger!"
He now works for Microsoft, writing error messages.

Hey Roadsmith...I don't know about the token either...But I remember when I was new at all this computer stuff and used to get the message..."You've committed a fatal error"! Scared the beejeebers out of me...was I going to DIE? Was the entire free world at risk? Now, I click on "OK" and continue on...Never have been able to figure out what that "Fatal Error" was but figure the Microsoft guy must be pleased!

It's a kind of security measure eBay implemented about a year ago with third-party services like Vendio. When Vendio launches an auction for you, it uses that token instead of your actual logon and password. This token expires ater a year.
Bottom line, it's for real. If you want Vendio to continue to be able to access your auctions, go where they tell you and renew the token.
You can trust a link actually on the Vendio site, but don't pay any attention to email links talking about this, as it would probably be a phishing scam.

Good grief! I've been on Vendio 5 years now and have never gotten that message and have had no trouble listing on Ebay all that time. What gives?!

The tokens were only implemented a year ago, so your longevity doesn't help in this case. You would have HAD to have approved one at that time- you may not remember it.
If there is a way to use Vendio without the token, I am not aware of it. Anyone know more?

I just remember when they changed the system, and also I just had to renew the tokens on several eBay accounts on my auction system (not Vendio).
Just "been there, done that" is all.

If this is the first time you guys have ever heard of it you are not paying attention. EVERYONE had to validate it last year when ebay started the system plus there was a thread about this here on this forum a couple weeks ago.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
