I came home from working tonight (I worked 23 hours this weekend, UGH) to find a new negative feedback in my profile. I was seething!
It says "I paid immediately but still have not received my item almost 3 weeks later".
1.) Item was purchased 2/20/05
2.) Item was shipping with Delivery Confirmation (I have the number, receipt, etc) on 2/22/05
3.) Negative left today 3/06/05 - that is NOT 3 weeks. It's 2 weeks. Not even 2 weeks.
4.) USPS says item was scanned at their local post office yesterday.
5.) They did not contat me to let me know it had not been received yet.
6.) The only 2 feedbacks this newbie (with 18...er...now 17 feedbacks) are 2 negatives they've left. Mine and one for someone else complaining that they left a sticker on the item.
7.) They now have a big fat red one from me AND the other seller they left a negative for in their crappy profile.
If I screw up I admit it. I didn't screw this one up. I posted a response to the feedback stating shipping date/DC #, etc. I know that's good enough but I hate that I'm doing the best that I can and I get an idiot like this.
Just venting.

And that was a very good vent, Helga !
And I don't blame you for being pithed off but unfair negs are unavoidable if you sell on ebay long enough (hoped you blocked the bugger!)
If a seller has a neg or two and I get worried about bidding, I check how they responded to the negs....if they're polite and factual....I ignore their negs.

I don't know if they will respond.
I sent an email before I left the feedback wanting to know why they didn't contact me, or better yet check out the tracking number I sent them.
I send every buyer an email when I ship with their ship date/tracking number and a thank you. every one of them. I even reforwarded that email to them.
They didn't bother to send me an email wanting to know where their item was, I don't know that they will bother to do a mutual withdrawl.
It bothers me that I have a negative for the first time in almost 3 years but not as much as I thought. I didnt' do anything wrong in this siituation and I explained it in the response.
If they respond to my email I will suggest the Mutual thing. We'll see.

She's blocked. I blocked her immediately after I left her negative.
Her buying is sporadic. A total of 17 feedbacks (2 negatives) from May of 04. She leaves no feedback unless it's negative.

Send her another email. Tell her that the exterminator that was at your house the day before you packed her item wants you to advise her to be sure to scrub her hands thoroughly in soap and hot water after she touches the item. Also if she feels nauseus or develops a rash, she should see her physician immediately. Be sure to send the email AFTER the item delivers and she's had a chance to open it. The fun starts when she demands a refund.

Yeah, that's the way it usually works.
I know in my own case, that's been the rule. EVERY single one of my negs was unwarranted. I make mistakes. I'll even go so far as to say it's not that unusual to mess up a shipment. My REAL screw-ups, I fix at whatever cost it takes to correct, and the buyers are usually thrilled at the service and laughing about the goof by the time it's finished.
I switched labels on a couple of boxes week before last. As soon as I found out, I contacted both buyers, had them send the items back (at my expense) and re-switched. Both buyers recieved their packages this weeka and left glowing feedback and one was even joking about it with me.
I have no idea what the story is with most of my negs- they just appear out of the blue with no contact from the buyer at all. I can't fix the problem if I don't know there is one.
And sparkz... That one's a classic-to-be!

Helga,
Any possibility that the address you shipped to was incorrect? I'm not saying that you didn't write the label correctly... but maybe the bidder provided you with an old address (they might have moved and not updated their eBay contact info). If that's the case... maybe you can try contacting eBay to have the negative removed due to false contact information. It's worth a shot anyhow! Good luck!

I know how you feel, Helga. It's like a sudden punch in the stomach when I get even a neutral that I feel is undeserved. A neg in my newer seller account just about floored me.
If ONLY Ebay would make all newbies take a short quiz on what feedback is all about. If only. . . .

I used the address that PayPal provided when the payment was made.
How do I contact eBay to have it removed based on false contact information?
I dont even know if they are getting my emails because there is never any response to them.

Helga,
If you click on this link:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/feedback-removal.html
It will take you to eBay's feedback removal policy page. There is a link at the bottom (contact us) that you can click on to dispute the feedback. Since you're not getting responses to the emails as well... it's extremely possible that the problem is indeed with your bidders contact information. If eBay confirms that... then the negative feedback in your account will be removed. Good Luck!

Don't you just love it!!!!
I had the same thing happen to me - the bidder could have paid for priority mail but picked 1st class, paid with a check on Monday and I shipped on Friday of the same week - not even a 10 day hold for a check which is quoted in my auctions. That Monday was a Holiday and by the following Friday, she had the package but felt it was too slow.
When she answered my email - she said it have been 3 weeks- not sure what kind of calendar she uses.
These people have just convinced themselves that they are right and there is nothing you can do about it.

She's probably going by the auction close date or when she wrote the check, as opposed to when you actually received the check.
Don't you just want to smack them upside the back of the head?
Here's your sign!

Thanks for the link. I went ahead and filled out the form. It can't hurt.
She still did not answer my email nor did she respond to the negative I left her.
I also checked the USPS website and saw that her item was delivered today at 4:31 p.m. I have no idea why it took over a week to ship. It went from PA to WA and was sent First Class but that is not my fault.
I'm still shaking my head over this one.

I just had a retaliatory neg removed because the bidder (now NARU'd) had a false phone #. It took a couple of weeks and several complaint forms, but eBay finally responded. Might be worth a try of mutual feedback removal doesn't work.

Well she finally responded to my emails.
This is what she had to say:
" have only received one email from you. I paid for the item on Feb. 20. It was delivered on March 7. That is 16 days – or 2 1/2 weeks. You have received my payment. I have finally received the item. Don’t contact me again."
I'm not even going to bother with the mutual removal thing. I emailed her back and told her that she didn't have to worry about me not contacting her again that she's on my blocked bidders list. If you'd like me to share that name let me know.
I mailed that package on the 22nd. It's not my fault that it took a week to deliver. This wacko clearly does not understand how eBay, the post office or feedback works.
I can't believe I had to take a negative over something I did not do.

Helga, don't feel like you're alone. I have one neg. The wording is " Mirror arrived broken. Not your fault. Bad handling by FedEx" Eventually, we all will receive an undeserved neg.

Some people are just bitter negative people - I think they use ebay as a way to vent or get even in their minds. That's truly sad for them but don't you feel like you are so much better than that.
I would file for the withdrawal - it can't hurt but don't expect it.
As they say - put a period on it and get over it.
Sorry it happened.
