I have a couple of websites for personal and business use. My friend designed and hosts for
me. A few weeks back, I received a fax letting me know my bill is "past due" for web hosting services. They wanted $145. I looked all over the fax for a phone number of course there was no phone number to be found.
It looked totally offical yet I knew it was BS.
Yesterday I get a letter. Inside is a bill for web hosting and web promotion. I knew this was BS. On the back of the letter in small print was the disclaimer stating that this isn't a bill unless I agree to their services.
Is this a new trick? Making you think you owe money. I guess some account payable departments would pay this without even questioning it.

I get these from time to time at our business as we are listed in the yellow pages. Yeah they look legit and I could see how many just get paid from bigger billing depts. We are small potatoes and don't web adverstise.
