I know nothing about Victorian jewelry. This pin is marked 14k with some other mark in a box that I cannot make out. There are tiny pearls all around it and a sapphire in the center. Would this have been a remembrance brooch or just a plain wreath brooch? I know the Victorians used different pieces of jewelry for different things. Want to make sure I label it right. Could use some suggestions, too. Thanks a bunch!

What makes you date it to the Victorian era?

First, I know who it came from. I think it's more Edwardian. It belonged to the great-grandmother of a friend of mine. She got it from her grandmother who was born in 1910 and died in the 1980's. So, that makes it either late Victorian or Edwardian. It's not new by any means. Also, the style and the clasp (c-clasp) help to date it. It may be European due to the other mark. Even with my strongest loupe, I can't make the mark out.
