On my seldom-used eBay account (not my main one) I got one of those phishing e-mails from "trust and safety," about updating my registration information. I've gotten them before--but this one had my full e-mail address in the body of the message, which I'd never seen before. I know they have my e-mail address or they wouldn't be able to send that message to me, but somehow it worries me to see the body of the message listing it also. Am I wrong to be concerned???

I did send it to eBay and they said it was phishing, which I was already sure of.

*truly frightening* got one creepy phish just nano-seconds ago ~ looked EXACTLY like ask seller a question e-mail ~ had a link in it with the item number and *i clicked the link*. sha,e pn me but whew! I came VERY close to entering my eBay name & password because it looked just like the sign on page! Luckily I stopped for a secind and said hmmmmmmmmm. I went back to the e-mail for the referenced auction number ~ doesn't exist. then did a search on the user name signed in that e-mail ~ again, doesn't exist.
typing fast because i need to run and get the kiddles but this is a BIG heads up!
looked VERY authentic!

Zoomin...Although they were apparently trying to trick you into giving your Ebay password, be advised that about a year ago there was a spoof going around using that same technique. Phoney user, phoney item number made to look like an ASAQ. Clicking the link would take you to a page that would load a keystroke recording trojan onto your computer. I would advise you to make sure your AV program is current and scan your computer right away.

Last week I had a phone call from the Home Office of my bank. My Debit Card nos had been stolen by someone in Italy!! They had be,n arrested by the police & had several hundred stolen numbers. Anyway my card had not been used & I was issued a new card which arrived today. The other card was voided last week. Funny thing is I only use it on occasion & never online. The world is getting to be a scary place.

sparkz ~ thanks for the heads up!
I ran 3 av's so hopefully I wiped it out!
I have been selling for over 5 years and I'm telling you this thing looked real! I must get about 5-6 of the 'other' phish mails a week!
thanks again!
