You were kind to reply to me on this forum
re fake Tiffany's bracelet I bought. Thought you might be interested in following comments - I let too much time get away to use either PayPal or e-bay protection programs. Comment here to all is this - The auction was vero'd after I paid. I paid immediately. BECAUSE IT WAS VERO'D, I LOST MY SELLER'S RIGHT TO LEAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK
(there would have been time to do this), AND I CANNOT ACCESS CONTACT INFORMATION since the auction was "pulled". Seems the VERO
SYSTEM protects the perpetrator and takes
rights away from the person who was defrauded. I LEARNED A VALUABLE LESSON, but still wish there were a way to get my money back!!!!! IF E-BAY HAD NOTIFIED ME WHEN THE AUCTION WAS VEROd, I WOULD HAVE HAD TIME TO PROCEED UNDER PAYPAL OR E-BAY
PROTECTION PROGRAMS, BUT ONLY FOUND OUT ABOUT THE VERO WHEN I TRIED TO ACCESS THE AUCTION PAGE MUCH LATER. Not fair!!!!

So, do a chargeback with your cc issuer.

EATING MY WORDS!! Just heard from e-bay Customer Support. They tell me that they DO notify high bidder of a VERO. (I very carefully check all e-mail and cannot imagine how I missed the nofification.) I'm advised to do cc chargeback. I paid from my PayPal account balance. I'm going to go ahead and consider this an expensive lesson.

You can contact PayPal and file a dispute based on "significantly not as described". Inform PayPal that the auction was canceled by eBay after the item was paid for and that after recieving your item you have discovered that it is a counterfeit.

Be careful not to go past the time period to notify your CC company though. I once (I should say DH once) purchased a lot of postcards in an auction and I knew from the get-go by user's id (it was weedhead or something like that) that it was likely that the item wouldn't be delivered. I posted on this board and was advised that PayPal would hold it against me if I went the credit card chargeback route and could actually freeze my incoming auction payments. I contacted PayPal and they found in my favor but, of course, the weedhead had no $ in his account for PayPal to get ahold of. By now it was too late to do a CC chargeback and I was basically out $250. If ebay is telling you to do a CC chargeback, I would suggest doing it.

she said she used paypal fund,so there is no chargeback she can file with her cc issuer.
I doubt if this seller has any money in his paypal account by now.
If a Tiffany item looks new,it is either fake or stolen.

You have her name and address, look up her phone number. Call her and tell her you want a refund. If she refuses, call her local police department and report it as fraud. Some police departments will act on these cases, and some won't. They might be able to pursuade her to return your money. If she sent the bracelet to you through the mail, by all means get the postal inspectors involved. After they have a little chat with her, she should be a little more agreeable to discuss a refund with you.

I agree with Sparkz. Give her one chance, then get her local police department involved immediately.

If you really want to have a little fun....

Tell her that if you do not recieve a full and complete refund within three days you will be forwarding her name, address, ebay seller ID and PayPal information on to James B Swire of the law firm of Arnold & Porter LLP.

Then you might want to mention that mr Porter is not your attorney but rather the Intellectual Property attorney retained by Tiffany & Co to oversee thier lawsuit against eBay and various sellers that are infringing upon the Tiffany & Co. copyright.

Hi Shopchicly

This also has happened to me, I bought a Tiffany Mesh Ring and when I received it I realized it was not the Real Tiffany Ring, I ordered one from Tiffany's and everything about the ring is fake.

So the auction also was pulled and the seller was suspended the day after I paid for it.

But what I did was to contact the seller telling them of the problem and said I would like to return the ring for a refund. They said send it back, I put signature conformation, along with insurance and tracking so I know when they received it. I waited a week and no refund came to me in my paypal account so I filed a claim with paypal saying it was not as described.

The seller contacted me saying I didn't need to file a claim because they will refund my bid price. I told them as soon as I receive my refund I will end the claim but I filed a claim because I didn't want to miss out on the time frame for filing.

I was lucky because the seller did refund my money it just cost me 15.00 in shipping fees.

The people that sell all Tiffany jewelry get it at wholesale prices from China and it is NOT the real Tiffany but I only found this out when I went searching and I found the web site that YOU can purchase all Tiffany look a like Jewelry so this is what they were doing but when I told the seller it was not the real Tiffany Ring he said, well sometimes things get through the cracks......lol The auction Stated "REAL TIFFANY".

I was really happy to get back my bid price that I didn't really worry about the shipping at the time but your right I should have asked for the shipping too.

But since they were suspended I figured I'm lucky that they were answering my emails and willing to return my money.

I am mainly a seller but I love to buy and each time I buy on Ebay I kinda have this worried feeling,

Like will it arrive?
will they pack it right?
Is it what they say it is?

I wounder if most buyers feel this way.

how was their feedbacks when you 'bought'?

There feedback was not bad, they had a lot of positives and just a few negs, but none of the Negs complained about the Item being fake Tiffany so I figured it was the REAL Tiffany. They complained about slow shipping, or high shipping costs.

The price I paid was only 20.00 less then the real Ring ........

I should have done like I always do and go straight to Tiffany to buy but I figured like most of us do, if we can save a few dollars heck, why not?.........wrong thought
on my part.
