I don't come to this forum too often so don't know if I'm repeating this subject or not, but here goes...
Lately, after a purchase on ebay, I've gotten what I call "advertising" feedback...No mention of my timely payment, or comment directly about our transaction...I get feedback like "Another satisfied customer of "Bobo's Card Shop. Look For Great Cards At My Store"...I might note I hadn't yet got the item, so how do they know I'm satisfied???...Another example is "You're always a winning bidder when you buy from Jojo.com. Check us out"...Has that become the norm from sellers lately?...Seems instead of leaving feedback about the transaction, they use feedback to you to further advertise their business...
It's positive feedback, but doesn't do much for my benefit...I kinda feel ripped off...I could leave a snide remark as positive feedback back for them, but that just isn't my thing...Anyone experiencing this kind of feedback lately, or are you as a seller leaving something like this?...I might note, I do sell on ebay occasionally too, and don't think this is something I'd do...How about it gang?...

I think its kind of tacky, but as far as 'advertising' I cant see it being very effective. - Do you think its like subliminal where someone would read it and remember bojo's-whatever? I may be wrong, but I think people barely scan feedback and usually only look at the negs anyway.
But yeah, kinda takes out any input you (the buyer) may have put into the transaction. It'd probably annoy me a little bit, but I wouldnt sweat over it much.

I've noticed it too. It really burned me when I bought postcards from a competitor. I don't want reference to THEIR site on MY feedback!!

There isn't so much you can do about it as cheesy as it is.....
HOWEVER putting a URL in the feedback is against the rules and if you wanted to you can get it removed by Ebay. It is one of the 4-5 reasons Ebay has approved for feedback removal without using mediation. If it was a positive feedback you may or may not want to.

Personally, I don't see a problem with those feedbacks. It is a very positive message with feedback left first by the seller as it should be. Kudos to those sellers with enough creativity and honesty to leave good feedback in the first place when it is deserved.

Stonecold...I always believed that GOOD feedback was positive feedback about the person you made the transaction with, and how the transaction was handled by that person, not about their own agenda (or their creativity) of self promotion...
